The Prep Hoops Circuit Passion Region Finals are also getting underway on Friday night at the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Prep Hoops Florida scouts Allen Pettigrew and Ross Van De Griek are on the grounds of IMG Academy. Here is who stood out on Friday night:
Elijah Lubsey
Elijah Lubsey
The 6-7 power forward was a force on the interior for SWFL Hoops as he finished with a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks) in a win over Team Unity (Maryland). Lubsey brought his smooth handles as well and was very active running the floor on the break finishing at the front of the rim efficiently. His versatility and ability to defend multiple positions was what stood out to me as he brings great length and forces opponents into taking tough shots.
The 6-4 rising sophomore was one of the more intriguing prospects I saw on Day 1 as he was finishing around the rim and brought a ton of athleticism. Lambert wasn’t afraid of the challenge as he played with SWFL Hoops 17U as he was facilitating as well as bringing high energy on the defensive end of the floor. Lots of upside for Lambert going into his sophomore season.
Logan Kanicki

The 6-1 guard did it all on the floor for Pro Skills Tampa Bay finishing with a game-high 18 points in a win over No Excuses Elite. Kanicki can score on all three levels and impacted the game in a variety of ways too. Look for a promising junior season for Kanicki as he transferred from Sunlake to Carrollwood Day over the summer.
The Polk State College signee didn’t let his size indicate his skill as he played both ends of the floor at a high level. Knighten impacts the game with his speed and ability to get to the basket. His defense spoke volumes as he brings a ton of physicality and brought a ton of energy.
Dallas Johnson
Dallas Johnson
The 5-8 guard was scrappy and tough on both ends of the floor where he wasn’t letting his scoring be the only indication to him. Johnson is a hard-nosed defender who forced his opponent into taking tough shots throughout the game in the loss to SWFL Hoops 2024. Johnson is also a name to keep note of as he remains one of the top unsigned prospects in the DMV area where he has gotten several looks and interest across D2, D3 schools.
