Day 2 was by far the most impressive day so check out some of the top standouts from Saturday games. Some familiar names and some new faces, these players you want to keep your eye on!
Evan Okey (Kessel Heat)- Evan has stepped into a new role for his Heat team as the starting point guard and he’s the second-tallest player on his team. Evan did an excellent job of facilitating his group and keeping everyone involved. When you’re a point guard it’s your job to be the coach on the floor, Evan did exactly that executing the offense and allowing his team to make major comeback runs.
Connor Gain (Arnold Elite)- Gain has made huge strides this summer and keeps getting better every game. What stands out the most about Connor is his ability to be a lethal wing with his size, length, and skill set. He provides another rebounder getting double-digit rebounds most games and finishing in the paint off of cuts.
Yuxuan Gu (CyFair Elite)- Gu was extremely impressive Saturday leading his CyFair team to a couple of victories. He seem to make all the right plays for his team when they needed it the most. There were multiple plays where he attracted 2 defenders and then dumped it off to his teammate under the rim for the easy lay-up making him look like a magician with the basketball.
Ernesto Otero (CyFair Elite)- Ernesto was impressive and labeled a standout because of his finishing ability through traffic in the paint. He received multiple dump-off passes from his guards and was stuck with the rotating defender coming to guard him but that didn’t stop him from converting. Occasionally he popped out to hit the 15ft jump shot and converted spreading the defense out.
Nate White (Arnold Elite)- A familiar name on this circuit, White showed us his strength in the paint on Saturday even when the ref didn’t call a foul he still converted, leaving us with a flex to let everybody know he’s strong. One of the better bigs around, he showed us his skill set allowing his guards to make plays for him. Be on the lookout for him to make a strong showing for his Arnold elite group on Sunday trying to lead them to the championship.
