Prep Hoops Florida scout Ross Van De Griek is in Atlanta covering the Elite 32 taking place at the Next Play 360 on Thursday. Here are his standouts from the first day of the event:
The 6-1 point guard displays a ton of shiftiness in his game whether he is moving the basketball or scoring. He displayed his ability to make the extra pass as well as knock down a couple of key 3-pointers to lift his team to a win over Great Lake Warriorz.
The 6-9 rising senior power forward has continued to improve his game this summer. Yeanay finished with a game-high 17 points including 3 made 3-pointers in the second half to prevail his team to a win. His ability to finish around the rim was also crucial down the stretch as his ability to bruise defenders on the attack proved to be the difference maker.
The 6-6 rising senior wing has flourished his game so far this summer and finished with a team-high 14 points in a loss to the Dallas Mustangs. Maynard brought his physical presence onto both ends of the floor and displayed some great moves on the interior. He is a big time prospect who should start getting on college coaches’ radar as he can defend multiple positions at a high level.
Highlights
The 6-10 power forward has emerged into one of the best prospects in the upcoming senior class. The Rutgers commit flashed his multi-dimension skills finishing with a game-high 30 points and dished out some crisp assists in the win as well. He plays with an unselfish edge and played multiple positions for Athletes of Tomorrow.

The 6-0 point guard is a player who can find his offensive game in a hurry. He is also one of the best shooters in the region for the upcoming senior class. He knocked down six 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 30 points in a win for the Alabama Generals. His shiftiness and movement without the basketball in his hands is what attracted the college coaches quickly. He has great handles and a high basketball IQ as he continues to have what appears to be a great summer so far.
The 6-5 rising junior shooting guard is very comfortable in the open floor, whether it’s creating for his teammates or taking the open shot. He has a great skillset where he uses his length and speed to stay in front of his opposition. His high IQ and mature game is going to gain a lot of attention from the college coaches as the summer continues on. He can play multiple positions on the floor and has a quick first step to finish at the front of the rim.

The 6-1 point guard was in complete control from the opening tip until the end of the game, finishing with a game-high 26 points and dished out five assists in the win over Bryson Warren Elite. Bolton is a very vocal leader out on the floor and is a great decision maker when he has the basketball in his hands.
The 6-2 rising junior point guard exploded for a game-high 26 points in a win over the Tennessee Panthers. His ability to get downhill and create space for his teammates was what drew my attention when watching him this afternoon. His explosiveness off the bounce and slashing to the front of the rim has drastically improved over the summer and is poised to have a big finish heading into his junior season. Ragland is also a prolific shooter from beyond the arc where he knocked down four 3-pointers in the win.
