SubscribeThe Las Vegas Junior Big Time takes place July 15th -18th in Las Vegas. The games from the event will be played at the historic House of Glory on the Campus of Bishop Gorman HS. Here’s a look at some of the standouts on the first day.

Mckinney was everywhere in the game I saw. A long, athletic forward, he ran the floor well, showing good speed, changing ends. He displayed the jump in his Run and Jump ability, blocking shots and throwing down an impressive transition in game dunk.

Collins was one of the fastest players I saw on the day, however he’s even quicker and with a handle. He put several players on skates, using both his skill and physical gifts.

White was terrific blending floor generaship with bucket getting. The lefty showed the ability to stop on a dime, raise up and burry shots. He put defenders in a bind, with his vision, identifying open teammates after breaking down opponents.

Could be looking at a future prospect. Ekanen showed a ton of promise running the floor, moving well laterally, and using his length to protect the rim. He is raw, but because of his tremendously quick 2nd jump, he was able to use his athleticism to score around the rim.

Thompson had a strong showing and everything he did seemed to be explosive. He batted a shot out of bounds, showing timing and power. The big forward also was able to show faceup ability, rumbling downhill for a couple buckets
Spencer was the best player I saw on the day. The lefty is a physical driver that bullied his way to the rim, taking hatchet shots to the arm as he completed plays. His size, skill and motor placed him as one of the days standouts
