RSR was the best perimeter defensive player I saw during the weekend. He was super aggressive when he was on the top of the press. intercepting passes and forcing ballhandlers into misdribbles and turnovers. He played the same passing lanes in half court sets as well, anticipating passes quickly turning offense into defense.

Bloom was a good active player with a signature skill. The guard was productive scoring in transition, however his best skill was his shooting. The jitterbug PG put so much arch on his shot, you’re suprised when it doesn’t draw rain. He was accurate from distance during the game I saw.

Really liked the activety that Pierce played with. He was all over the floor, aggressively coming up with 50/50’s and extra possessions for his team. The guard showed good dexterity, finishing well with both hands around the rim.

Carter was so good that the 2028 guard made my 2027 All Summer Team. Regardless of class, he was as good as any guard I saw during the event. He has a good frame, and controls the pace of the game with his handle and decision making. Carter was terrific at getting paint touches, doing a great job of collapsing the defense before hitting open teammates with dimes for easy buckets.

Esquivel was one of the best passers I saw at the event. The PG wasn’t shy about making the risky, flashy pass, he hit a teammate with an underhanded dime from half court, that he couldn’t have handed to him better. He also made the simple hit ahead or next pass, keeping the offense going. The PG used his handle to create angles before delivering on time, on target dimes for teammates.

I’ve been watching Tamlyn play for what feels like his entire basketball career, he gets a little better each time I see him. Today, he dominated a game without scoring a point. The lefty used heady play and good instincts to serve up assist for his teamamtes. He was terrific passing off the bounce, placing the ball in just the right spot, allowing his teammates to catch and finish. The unselfish PG probably has a lot of friends on the team, as a player with passing ability like that can easily raise the scoring average of those around him.
