Aidan Dreiling
Aidan Dreiling
Aidan Dreiling is an exciting athlete to watch. He is a Swiss army knife being able to affect the game in every aspect. I saw Aidan pull down a defensive rebound and go coast to coast for an and-one finish in transition. Then on the next possession, Aidan stole a cross court pass and hit his teammate perfectly in stride for a layup. He has a bright future being the primary defender for his team while also carrying most of the offensive workload. He showed his high motor this weekend diving for loose balls and having multiple contact finishes without signs of needing to slow down. He gets a good amount of deflections and steals by shooting gaps and camping in pass lanes without gambling.
Deandre Nichols
Deandre Nichols
DeAndre is an offensive juggernaut. I can’t start this article without mentioning the unlimited range of DeAndre. He stepped across half court and was immediately a threat to score and he was confidently pulling from NBA range off the dribble or spot-up. He has above average quickness which is a nightmare for defenders to try and defend the range and the downhill attack. Nichols was getting any look he wanted this weekend, he was having no trouble getting into the paint and hitting tough contested floaters. His bread and butter came from defenders who kept challenging him to shoot deeper and deeper. Be on the lookout for this certified sniper in the coming weeks.
Brady Hurla Brady Hurla 5’10” | PG St. Marys | 2025 State KS had another big weekend for SSA at Hoop City Classic. He is embracing his role as a leader and continues to shine bright during tough games. His high basketball IQ was on full display as he was commanding the pace of the games and keeping calm in high pressure situations. He is a confident scorer with the skills to match. Scoring off catch & rip is where Brady makes most of his money, stopping in the mid range for an easy jumper or using his bag to score around the rim is key for him. He has good court vision, he finds his teammates before they’re open and knows how to work the pick & roll at a high level. St. Mary’s has a star on their roster.
Ethan Meyer
Ethan Meyer
Ethan Meyer is a 3&D monster. He has the size and ability to make him a threat on both sides of the ball at all times. This weekend, he was all over the stat sheets, he knocked down some tough shots in big moments while putting on a defensive clinic. His scoring is on the level where he can take over a game with just a few plays, he’s a player you cannot help off of due to his smooth shooting. His off-ball movement makes him a great player because he doesn’t need to have the ball in his hands a lot of the time to score a lot of points. He worked well in the spot up as well as dribble pull ups. On defense he defends the best player and contains them with his size and speed.

Drew Wilson Drew Wilson 6'2" | SF Kearney | 2025 MO
Drew is an efficient scorer at all 3 levels. His strength helps him bully smaller guards to get easy finishes in the paint through contact or contested. He has a silky jumper that he used to fill it up from midrange and from 3. Drew was getting to his spots all weekend showing he can score anywhere against anyone. He has the IQ and body to take advantage of lazy defense or smaller players. On defense he holds his own, not gambling and beating opponents to their spots. His quick hands kept getting him steals on unsuspecting bigs and guards with a loose handle. Drew continues to rise his stock in the 2025 class.
Miguel Ortega
Miguel Ortega
Miguel is a certified floor general. He paced the game very well this weekend helping his team to a 4-0 record. He has all the tools an elite point guard need: quick step, court vision, handles, maturity, etc… He penetrates the defense with ease getting paint touches on the majority of his possessions, creating dump off or kick out opportunities for his teammates. He has a soft touch around the rim making him a threat there too. He is special on the break, seeing the floor in a different way giving his teammates easy buckets with high level PG passes.
