Brendan is a smooth combo-forward with good footwork and high IQ. He can provide points from all three levels. Tousignaut is toolsy, long-armed and effective. He gets on the glass and can help defend both in the paint and on the perimeter. He totaled 12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 1 block vs. Benedictine.
High energy bouncy forward is consistently on the glass and making plays defensively. Canidate plays above the rim, catching oops and scoring up close. He covers ground quickly in the press and fills the lanes in transition. He posted 8 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 3 blocks in a win over Monroe Area.
Morgan passes the eye-test, a big guard that can play either on or off the ball. Rajah used his size to get downhill against Gainesville, drawing multiple fouls as he shot 5-7 from the line. Morgan netted a three and hit a long two, part of his 14 points. Rajah proved to be an impactful rebounder, collecting a team-high 7 boards.
Kenneth Martin will be turned loose on the varsity level at South Cobb after playing JV at North Paulding a season ago. He is a hard playing swingman with a strong frame. Martin has a burst of speed to the basket, able to barrel his way through defenders for layups. KJ can be a foul magnet in the paint. In a 57-46 win over Gainesville, Martin tallied 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals. He holds versatility as a guy that can defend larger opponents.
The 6-foot-4 wing transferred from Douglas County this offseason. He provides Chapel Hill with size and athleticism on the perimeter. CJ spaces the floor with his three-point shot and is adept at crashing in from the wings for tip-ins when not blocked out.
Deke had a nice game against North Oconee. He looked fluid as a driver and was able to find points off the backboard with putbacks. Cooper had 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.
Highlights
Following a scoreless first half, Grant helped carry Madison County to the finish line in the Navy Bracket Championship, scoring all 14 of his points in the second half to lead the Red Raiders to a 61-60 OT win. Smith did all his damage without hitting a three. He scored downhill on five drives – two And-1 takes. Grant got going with a one-dribble pull-up and was able to contribute aside from scoring, collecting 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
Don’t sleep on Samples. The junior is very talented. Caleb is a good athlete with size on the perimeter. He is capable of getting to the basket off the dribble or knocking down jumpers. He had 14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block vs. Madison County.
