After highlighting some high-level prospects from the class of 2024, it’s time to evaluate some intriguing rising juniors as we revisit the point guard position. Without any further ado, here’s my list of some highly explosive 2025 point guards in Tennessee to watch out for on both sides of the floor this upcoming season.

At the top of my list of notable performers is KJ Neville KJ Neville 6'2" | PG Bartlett | 2025 State TN , a 6-foot-3 point guard at Bartlett High School. Neville made the most of his minutes on the floor for the Panthers during his sophomore stint of high school basketball. What stands out about Neville is his size, speed and scoring effort, showcasing his pin-point accuracy from range as well as his durability and physical edge underneath the rim. The rising junior out of Bartlett, TN. additionally remained composed and patient with possession, showcasing precise decision-making as well as smart passing. Neville will definitely be an interesting prospect to watch on the court this upcoming season.

Another player to catch my attention is Tylan Lewis Tylan Lewis 6'2" | PG Independence | 2025 State TN , a 6-foot-2 point guard at Independence High School. Lewis was an electric playmaker for the Eagles during his sophomore season of high school basketball. In addition to solid size and toughness at the top of the key, Lewis was an efficient playmaker due to his overall athleticism and versatility, utilizing his speed and execution to drive to the rim while also providing efficient scoring from range. The rising junior out of Thompson’s Station, TN. also caught my eye with his defensive effort, ability to apply significant pressure on the other side.

In the number three spot on my list of standouts is Tacarien Freeman Tacarien Freeman 5'10" | PG Fayette Ware | 2025 State TN , a 5-foot-10 point guard at Fayette Ware High School. Freeman was a gamechanger on the court for the Wildcats during his sophomore campaign of high school hoops. What stands out about Freeman is his strong ball control and ability to juke out defenders with his footwork and speed, creating opportunities to show off his jump shot. The rising junior out of Somerville, TN. additionally impressed because of his toughness in the paint and ability to outplay defenders at the rim. After showcasing immense talent on the court last season, Freeman is without question worth watching next season.

I was additionally impressed with Rodney Henderson Rodney Henderson 6'1" | PG Tyner Academy | 2025 State TN , a 6-foot-1 point guard at Tyner Academy. Henderson made the most of his minutes on the floor during his sophomore stint of high school basketball with the Rams. What makes Henderson so explosive is his size, speed and sudden movement, stunning the opposition with his ability to move quickly with the ball and contribute offensively from both around the perimeter and inside. The rising junior out of Chattanooga, TN. also made an impact due to his strong ball control and consistent passing, making him a dangerous point guard prospect to keep an eye on next season.

In the number five spot on my list is Carter Webb Carter Webb 6'3" | PG Siegel | 2025 State TN , a 6-foot-3 point guard at Siegel High School. Webb was one of the more impactful players on the Stars’ roster during his sophomore season of high school hoops. In addition to outstanding size, height and wingspan, Webb stands out due to his well-balanced playstyle as he consistently passes the ball to his teammates and makes a significant impact offensively at the top of the key as well as in the paint. The rising junior out of Murfreesboro, TN. additionally impressed with his speed in transition and ability to beat the opposition to second-chance opportunities. Webb is certainly worth keeping an eye on next season.
