Daniel Burton Daniel Burton 6'8" | PF Wilson Hall | 2024 State SC ( Upward Stars 3SSB Pee Dee) – Burton was a dominant force for Upward Stars 3SSB Pee Dee this weekend. He owned the glass, protected the rim at a high level, and even showed an ability to step out and make a jump shot from range. Daniel has good length and tremendous instincts that allow him to own the paint. In a matchup with Big Shots SC Premier on Saturday, one of the few teams that had the size to matchup with him, Daniel had 7 Points, 13 Rebounds, and 3 Blocks in an overtime win.
Alex Atkinson Alex Atkinson 6'9" | C Lower Richland | 2024 State SC (CRP Elite) – This weekend at the E.P.I.C. Hoops Summer Slam, Atkinson was running with CRP Elite. Although it was a new name on the front of the jersey, it was the same Alex on the court. He showed his athleticism on both ends of the floor, protecting the rim, running the floor, and finishing it with style on the offensive end. Alex also knocked down several jump shots both from the mid-range and from behind-the-arc at an efficient rate.
Khalil Wright (Carolina Rebels 17U) – Wright is the first of two bigs from the Carolina Rebels Grassroots Program that impressed me at the E.P.I.C. Hoops Summer Slam this weekend. At 6’3″ Khalil is not the biggest of forwards in this list but he uses his size well and plays taller than he looks. He can hit jump shots from multiple areas of the floor and can also finish through contact closer to the basket.
Teon Tindal Teon Tindal 6'8" | PF Crestwood | 2025 State SC (Carolina Rebels 16U) – Teon has been playing well all summer, and he was good again this weekend in Columbia. Tindal has a great frame that allows him to punish opponents on both ends of the floor. He can score with his back to the basket, facing up, or in pick-and-roll sets. Against Upward Stars Columbia Savage on Saturday, Teon had a very good performance finishing with 12 Points, 10 Rebounds, and 3 Blocks.
Ethan Mays Ethan Mays 6'5" | PF Lower Richland | 2025 State SC ( Upward Stars Columbia Portee) – The second Lower Richland Diamond Hornet to make the list of Top Bigs, Ethan also had a really good showing at the E.P.I.C. Hoops Summer Slam. Mays is a very mobile big man that has a great feel for the game. He is a really good finisher around the paint and gets a good amount of looks after Offensive Rebounds. In a matchup with Team USC on Saturday, Mays had a dominant 16 Point-12 Rebound Double-Double.
