There are once again very talented athletes added to the list off players in Michigan’s class of 2024. Let’s take a look at some of the prospects that were added.
Johnson is a high flying 2 sport star for Cass Tech. He’s a vertical player that can and will play above the rim and finish above the rim as well. Johnson is solid on the defensive end holding the ability to protect the rim. He’s shown vast improvements with his help side defense in the post.
Haight could be put on a billboard advertisement for the Prep Hoops Circuit. It was really his play on the big stage in a high quality circuit that started his entrance into the rankings and his quick rise up them. Haight was consistently one of the better shooters in the gym at PH Circuit events, He’s now square on the recruiting map in Michigan.
Highlights
Porter probably deserved to be ranked earlier in his high school career, but he’s here now, and he can plat the next level. In typical Top1 style, he got better and gained exposure. Porter has a very nice jumper that he can spray from all around the court. He shoots over the top of the defender and stays focused on the shot even with a hand in his face.
Latham is a post player with a very big upside. His game grew a ton just during last high school season alone. At the beginning of the year he looked like a raw post player. By the end of the year he was showing that he could dominate the paint. Latham moves well in the paint with solid feet. He can score with both force and creativity near the rim.
Mark my words, watch out for Heckman this high school season. If you can put up double-doubles in grassroots ball, high school season can be a movie. He has one of the better upsides when it comes to rebounding wing prospects. I really believe that college coaches are going to like what they see.
