Each game had highlight worthy plays, and players looking to prove their team was worthy of a Championship Title. Although there can only be one champion, there was no shortage of intensity throughout the entire weekend in each division. This huge event had all of the best talent in the state of Minnesota. Below, I highlighted the “Two-Way Guards”.
Jaden Boyd | ABC Young Lions
Boyd is a sturdy combo guard that turned defense into offense a great deal over the weekend. The two way prospect was able to herd opponents into tough positions, his lateral quickness and willingness to keep his hands up led the way when the ABC Young Lions looked to turn up the pressure. The runner up tournament champs benefited greatly from his efforts to push the tempo.
Cayden Volster – Wisconsin Blizzard
Volster took on the role as the energy leader over the weekend at Summer Slam. The Wisconsin Blizzard floor general handled defensive schemes at a high level, making timely passes and dribbling his way out of tough spots. The blizzard were at their best when Volster had it going, the 2027 guard tallied points on all three levels the floor. The selfless prospect led by example on both ends.
Zamari Whitmore | ABC Young Lions
Whitmore is an athletic prospect who was reliable in various ways for ABC Young Lions. He starred in his role as a “jack of all trades”, providing what his team needed in any given moment of the game. In smaller lineups he was a reliable anchor in the paint, in high pressure situations he was able to herd opponents into bad spots of the floor. His efforts resulted in a visit to the championship game.
Micheal Pratt-Hassan | Racine Truth
Pratt-Hassan is a wiry lead guard who set the table for the high powered offense of the Racine Truth. The versatile defender checked all the boxes for what it takes to deflate an offense. His team-first mentality was apparent. Most impressive was his ability to hit teammates on target and on time in the open floor. The big guard set the table at a high level all weekend, his efforts played a major role in their championship title run.
