Renaldo “RJ” Alexander G Gresham 2024
Alexander is a knockdown shooter for the Gophers. Last season he shot 48% from deep and has made 157 thus far in this career. Coach Lockhart will look to Alexander to carry a greater load this season and Alexander could top 250 career makes if Gresham makes a long playoff run.
Carter Fortune G Southridge 2024
The returning all-Metro performer was fantastic for the Skyhawks in their only Friday game. Fortune is a stat stuffer. He is almost always in double digits scoring and also led Southridge in assists last year. Fortune really makes the Hawks offense hum and that was on full display Friday.
Nate Gilkey Nate Gilkey 6'9" | PF Gresham | 2024 State OR F Gresham 2024
The 6’8″ rim protector for the the Gophers was impressive in their first game. Gilkey might have one of the higher ceilings for players under the radar in the class of 2024. He does a good job of roaming the paint and helping when needed. He does a fantastic job of directing traffic for coach Corey Lockhart Corey Lockhart 6'0" | CG Gresham | 2028 OR ‘s Gopher defense.
Kaden Groenig Kaden Groenig 5'9" | PG Southridge | 2024 State OR G Southridge 2024
Groenig is another returning all-Metro performer. He has a similar stat line to Carter Fortune if you swap assists and rebounds. Groenig is an elite rebounder for the guard position and will post the occasional double double. Defensively, he was in the top 10 in the state for steals and showed a real nose for the ball at Matthew Knight Arena in their first game.
Alonzo Hoff Alonzo Hoff 6'6" | SF Southridge | 2025 State OR F Southridge 2025
The lefty wing was impressive on his first night against Beaverton attacking their big relentlessly. Hoff has been consistent for coach Phil Vesel all summer and could be average a double double this season. He has elite length at 6’7″ and a willingness to mix it up on the defensive end.
Sam Lewis Sam Lewis 6'1" | CG Nelson | 2024 State OR G Nelson 2024
Nelson high school had a good showing on Friday and Sam Lewis Sam Lewis 6'1" | CG Nelson | 2024 State OR led the way for the Hawks. The lone returner for Daniel Blanks will play the shooting guard this year and provide some offensive punch. He averaged 12 points a game last year but look for him to up that closer to 20. In the first game for Nelson, Lewis had an impressive 21 points against a solid McMinnville team.
Braxton Long G Sprague 2025
Long runs the show for an Olympians team that has looked good all spring. The 6’2″ junior lefty point guard has a balanced handle package and can be downright crafty when the ball is in his hands. He has had multiple games around 25 this summer and showed off his scoring ability in the first game for Jordan Graneto’s team against Caldera with 15 points. Look for Long to really excel as he builds chemistry this summer with his pick and roll partners.
Grayson Long Grayson Long 6'1" | CG Sprague | 2024 State OR G Sprague 2024
Grayson Long Grayson Long 6'1" | CG Sprague | 2024 State OR makes up the other part of the Sprague back court and has a complementary game to Braxton Long. He has great spacial awareness and leverages his body to create opportunities at the rim where he can finish with either hand. Long had 14 in the first game for the Olympians and showed off an dangerous post game for a guard.
