UO team camp has traditionally been a place for players to put their names on the radar against top notch competition. Here are a few names that have been garnering buzz in the recruiting community!
Joey Banry Joey Banry 5'9" | PG North Eugene | 2024 State OR G North Eugene 2024
Banry was steady for the Highlanders last season as they took home 4th place at the 5A tournament. Banry gets North Eugene into their stuff on offense and is a hard nosed defender. Additionally, he is the leader for a team that has aspirations of a high finish in Corvallis this year.
Brysen Kachel Brysen Kachel 6'3" | PF West Albany | 2024 State OR F West Albany 2024
The 6’2″ Kachel is beast on the basketball court. He plays basketball with a physicality like an all state linebacker (which he was this past football season) and protects the interior for the Bulldogs on the defensive end. On offense he has a soft touch inside and has been working on extending his range to the three point line this spring. Kachel also consistently demonstrates some impressive footwork and hands.
Owen Hopkins G West Albany 2025
The rising junior guard will be the lead guard for the Bulldogs this season. He is a shooter with great range but can also attack close outs off the dribble. He has a good body and solid length that allows him to get into passing lanes and disrupt opponents offenses. Hopkins does a great job of creating fast break offense with his active defense.
Ian Prictor Ian Prictor 6'8" | PF Mountain View | 2024 State OR C Mountain View 2024
Prictor is the perfect complement to all state guard Quincy Townsend Quincy Townsend 6'2" | CG Mountain View | 2024 State OR . They form one of the best inside/outside duos in Oregon. He does all the little things that successful teams need like rebounding, defending, and finishing at the cup. Do not be surprised if he gets into his post move bag at camp this weekend.
Jackson Strandy F West Albany 2024
Strandy does a lot for Drew Halvorson’s team. His game is balanced on both ends of the court and provides a consistency for the Bulldogs. He can play above the rim as well as behind the three point line.
Jonas Spencer Jonas Spencer 6'5" | CG North Eugene | 2024 State OR G North Eugene 2024
Spencer is another contributor that is returning from the North Eugene team that took 4th at state last year. Spencer will be stepping into an expanded role this year. He is a cutter and slasher who can use his athleticism and size to get to the rim. Spencer can also step back and shoot the three at a high percentage.
Quincy Townsend Quincy Townsend 6'2" | CG Mountain View | 2024 State OR G Mountain View 2024
Townsend was first team all state for the Cougars last year and does a little bit of everything for Mountain View. He can really stuff the state sheet and led his team in points, rebounds, and assists last year. He has been a little banged up this spring but don’t be fooled if he needs to shake off a little rust, Townsend is the real deal. Do not be surprised if he leads 5A in scoring again this year.
