The event features about 75 talented players from around the state, most of whom are operating under the radar. This showcase is a good opportunity for them to be seen by a group of small college coaches, who were in attedance.
Beginning on July 1, Prep Hoops Missouri will be publishing write-ups on every player who participated in the showcase. On this day, we will give you a little preview with a look at some of the top standouts from Friday’s first day of competition.
Collin Clark Collin Clark 6'7" | SF Greenwood | 2025 State MO (Greenwood): The 6’7″ 2025 wing is the most high-profile prospect in the event as he is ranked in the among the dozen players in the class statewide. He is a terrific perimeter shooter with an excellent skill set and feel for the game. The game slows down for him nicely as he can also put it on the floor to get to the basket and he dropped some jaw-dropping dimes to open teammates who were on the move. At his height, he was able to easily see over the defense.

Cody Voysey Cody Voysey 5'10" | PG Strafford | 2025 State MO (Strafford): The 5’11” 2025 point guard was on fire in the first game of the event as he was raining buckets from all three levels and looking very smooth in doing it. His mid-range jumper was money as he was elevating over defenders and getting off his shot with ease. He was knocking down 3-pointers off the catch and the dribble while also delivering some nifty passes to open teammates. He also brings a little flash to his game to go along with his skill level.

Eric Shaw Eric Shaw 6'3" | SG Maplewood | 2024 State MO (Maplewood): After watching this 6’3″ 2024 guard dominate in the first game of the event, I called him “Bruce Brown,” referring to the standout junkyard dog performer of the world champion Denver Nuggets. Shaw is a dynamic athletic who plays with the same motor and zest for the game. And he gets the same results. He is a tremendous rebounder for his size and he gets many offensive putbacks. He is a excellent slasher who can hit the mid-range jumper off the bounce. He is all over the court and he creates turnovers, which leads to transition dunks on the other end.

Josh Thomas Josh Thomas 6'2" | PG Warrensburg | 2024 State MO (Warrensburg): The 6’2″ 2024 point guard had a tremendous performance in the first game that I watched him. He had it working from 3-point range, but his overall floor game was also excellent. The game slowed down for him nicely and it showed in the number of plays he made off the dribble. He made a hesi move on the baseline that froze multiple defenders which resulted in a layup. He was making good playmaking decisions with the ball throughout the game.
******
Ryder Williams Ryder Williams 6'3" | SG Versailles | 2024 State MO (Versailles): The 6’2″ 2024 had arguably the best shooting range in the showcase. There were a lot of good sharpshooters that we saw on Saturday, but few were consistently pulling the trigger from close to 30 feet as Ryder was and touching nothing but net. He was also getting to the basket and scoring on some tough drives through traffic to show that he was not one-dimensional.
******
Marlon Hickman-Roberson (Poplar Bluff): The 6’1″ 2024 guard from the SEMO area was cooking in the first game of the evening as he scored well more than 20 points, including the game-winning free throw in sudden death. He had a nice old school feel to his game as he could get to his spots when he wanted to, which was usually in the mid-range area. He could stop and pop from 15 feet and elevate over defenders for buckets. He could shoot it off the catch, but he was very effective off the dribble, which included a nice step-back 3-pointer.

Sawyer Huff Sawyer Huff 6'2" | SG South Iron | 2025 State MO (South Iron): The 6’2″ 2025 guard from Class 1 state-champion South Iron is an athletic slashing guard who really excels when he is attacking the basket. On this day, he was really showing his shooting stroke from 3-point range. He had it working from long distance as he hit five triples in the game that I watched. That element of his game will make him even more difficult to defend.
