There were many standouts throughout the event, and plenty of offers were thrown around as well. Here’s a look at part one of the 2024 standouts from Maryland teams in attendance.
Martin Sommerville | 6’1” CG | Bishop McNamara
Sommerville was one of the most watched prospects and has been a big time stock riser all spring and summer, and he picked up even more offers this session with his steady play. The 6’1” lefty is a talented scorer who can hit tough shots with little to no space, he gets hot quickly and can fill it up in bunches, he’s smooth off the bounce with the ability to create space or get downhill where he can draw contact and he has great instincts on both ends. He finished the event averaging 11.8 points, 4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game.
Tyler Boston Tyler Boston 5'10" | PG Bullis | 2024 State #291 Nation MD | 5’11” PG | Bullis
Boston was one of the top stock risers at the DMV Live, as he picked up five offers from division one schools following session 2 and double digit offers from the two sessions. He was fantastic leading this talented Bullis team as he controlled the tempo and set the tone on both ends of the floor, he made great reads in the pick-and-roll and in transition, he was an efficient scorer and he showed his ability to create for himself and others off the bounce. He finished the event averaging 14.5 points on 55% shooting, 5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
Caden Diggs Caden Diggs 6'7" | SF Bullis | 2024 State #125 Nation MD | 6’7” WF | Bullis
Diggs has seen his stock rise throughout the spring and summer, and his immense upside is a big reason why as he continues to get better and get closer to his ceiling. At 6’7” with long arms he’s a big time athlete who has good ball skills, he gets downhill and is a good finisher above the rim, he can make shots from multiple levels and get hot quickly and he he has big time upside on the defensive end. He finished the event averaging 11 points per game.
Kris Johnson Kris Johnson 6'4" | SG Grace Brethren Christian (MD) | 2024 State #288 Nation MD | 6’5” CG | Grace Brethren
Johnson has been one of my favorite players in the DMV over the last few years and I always said he was criminally under recruited, but his play in session 2 led to him getting three division one offers. Johnson’s a big guard with a high motor that simply makes a positive impact on both ends of the floor, he can handle it and get to the rim where he’s a good finisher, he can make shots and get hot quickly and he’s a fantastic defender both on the ball and in help. He finished the event averaging 15 points on 50% shooting, 9.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game.
Ky Panda-Massey Ky Panda-Massey 5'9" | PG Clinton Grace | 2024 State MD | 5’10” PG | Grace Brethren
Panda-Massey may not be the biggest player on the floor, but he makes a huge impact as he runs the show and is the straw that stirs the drink for this GB team. He’s a dynamic guard who is quick off the bounce and has great speed in transition, he touches the paint effortlessly, he can get to spots and scores it well from multiple levels and he sets the tone on the defensive end too. He finished the event averaging 14 points, 2.3 assists and 2 steals per game.
Ari Hobson | 6’2” WG | Landon
Hobson quietly had a great event for Landon, as he did a lot of things that helped his team both looking at the stat sheet and in ways that didn’t show up there. The 6’2” wing is a gritty and tough off guard who competes on both ends of the floor, he shoots it well from deep, he attacks closeouts and is a good secondary ball handler and he’ll stick his nose in and make the tough guy plays too. He finished the event averaging 13.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
Josiah Legree Josiah Legree 5'11" | PG St. Frances | 2024 State MD | 6’0” PG | Loyola Blakefield
Legree was a breakout performer and one of the most dynamic guards in attendance at DMV Live, as he put up big numbers and made plays across the board for his team. Despite his size he competed on both ends and stuffed the stat sheet, he showed blow by speed and the ability to change speeds with a shifty handle, he scored the ball well from multiple levels and he turned defense into offense regularly. He finished the event averaging 21.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2 steals per game.
