There are just over 400 high school basketball teams in the state of Indiana and 159 of them will take part in this iconic event. For college programs, this is a live evaluation period so Division I coaches have the opportunity to be in the gym as well. This is always the best event of the summer in the Hoosier state. Let’s dive on in and take a look at five under-the-radar rising seniors that college coaches at various levels should get their eyes on this weekend.
McLaughlin averaged a team-leading 16.7 points per game as a junior at Whiteland and showed some of that scoring ability at last weekend’s IBCA Top 100 Showcase. He will be playing once again this weekend at the Charlie Hughes where small college programs should take the opportunity to evaluate the super athletic driver. The 6’1″ guard can really attack the basket off of the dribble.
Morton stood out at the IBCA Top 100 as a strong, lefty point guard that knows how to put the ball in the basket. The 5’10” guard averaged 17.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists as a junior, but flys under the radar playing for Pike Central down in southern Indiana. His skill level offensively will allow him to find a home at the next level. Small college programs down his way should get eyes on him this weekend.
Jack Svetich

After a solid junior season at Crown Point, including a huge performance at the Forum Tip-Off Classic in a win over host Southport, this 6’2″ guard made a little bit of a name for himself last year. However, Svetich is still flying under-the-radar on a statewide basis. He is a long, athletic guard that had a strong showing at the Top 100 and should get some small college programs out to see him this weekend at Charlie Hughes.
Playing alongside Joey Hart and Logan Webb at Linton-Stockton for three seasons, this 6’5″ wing didn’t ever need to do a ton offensively. However, he was a big part of the Miners vast amount of winning over the years. Now, Walters will suit up for Terre Haute North as a senior. He has some “point forward” ability as an excellent ball handler and passer. At 6’5″ he has good size and rebounding ability. High academic prospect as well.
