June 8th-10th I attended the 16th annual Best in Basketball Summer Invitational at Mesquite HS in Gilbert, AZ. There were 24 teams playing in five showcase type of games over the three days.

Here is the All-Tournament Eighth Team:

[player_tooltip player_id='1127082' first='Zakaria' last='Ali'] Corona del Sol

A pure point guard who is trying to facilitate and put his team in the correct spots all game long. He is very fast with a really quick first step. When he gets that step on you, unless it's a straight line to the rim, he will throw a pass to a teammate.

[player_tooltip player_id='1382609' first='Nehemiah' last='Williams'] Sandra Day O'Connor

Arguably the top sixth man I viewed this weekend. He is a point forward who can get downhill, dunk it and defend multiple positions. He will hit the three off the catch and move the ball. His defense and timely offense helped them go 4-1 over the three days.

[player_tooltip player_id='1629015' first='Drew' last='Dana'] McClintock (Pictured)

An undersized scoring point guard plays hard, makes open shots, moves the ball and is fearless to go into the paint despite his size. He really tries to set the table for his teammates and when left open, he will hit perimeter jumpers. He plays the game with confidence.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986809' first='Stephon' last='Jordan'] AZ College Prep

An athletic point guard who is a two-way player. He is a very good on-ball defender with quick hands and feet and some upper body strength. He is a good ball handler who can be a little flashy and he will drive and kick it to a shooter. He transferred over from Gilbert.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986857' first='Nolan' last='Kramer'] Gilbert

A long armed power forward who is good inside. He can slip after the pick and roll game and finish. He uses his long arms to rebound and block shots. He is just scratching the surface and has a big family lineage on both sides for possible growth.

[player_tooltip player_id='1424760' first='Jacob' last='Minniefield'] Cactus

A scoring guard is a catch and shoot 3 and D type. He can score off the catch from the three point line and moves his feet on defense with a stocky frame. The coaching staff informed me that he is rapidly improving.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986858' first='John' last='Simcoe'] Sandra Day O'Connor

Improving power forward is getting more playing time and is more confident than last year. The lefty can hit the three, rip thru and score in the painted area and is a strong two-handed rebounder in heavy traffic. He doesn't force any bad shots and plays within himself.

[player_tooltip player_id='1770356' first='Isaiah' last='Terry'] Hamilton

A long guard grew maybe two inches since the AIA season. He can rattle in catch triples and pull-up from mid-range. He has very long arms and quick feet to play the passing lanes and seems like he is not done growing.

[player_tooltip player_id='1674310' first='Erik' last='Gray'] Paradise Valley

A quickly improving guard has become way more athletic in the last year. He is super athletic to throw it down and shows great body control to score in traffic. He uses his athletic gifts to defend multiple positions and bring a fire to the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1490882' first='Austin' last='Kraemer'] NVCA

A wing forward who does a little bit of everything for the team. He defends multiple positions, makes some plays and scores it from inside and out. He will hit the catch three and dribble drive to the basket.
