Jace Gilbert Jace Gilbert 6'5" | PF Arrowhead | 2024 State WI — PF — Arrowhead
Playing for a really good Arrowhead squad this past high school season, I thought that Gilbert more than proved his worth. Gilbert — who is already committed to Iowa State for football — played a critical role for the Warhawks in a deep playoff run. The power forward’s physicality was imposing and effective. He does a really good job of using his size and strength to outmuscle opponents in the paint. Gilbert also possesses excellent footwork for his size. Even though his future is on the football field, Gilbert is still very capable of making a difference on the hardwood.
Willie Williams Willie Williams 6'0" Racine Park | 2024 WI — CG — Racine Park
Williams has been an underrated prospect for a long time now. The Racine Park combo guard is a skilled scorer who can get buckets from all three levels. The combo guard can change direction and speed in a blink. One moment he could be slowly walking the ball up the court. Then the next moment he could be aggressively slashing towards the hoop and finishing a difficult layup. On the offensive end of the court, Williams presents many problems for defenders because of his ability to score.
J.J. Douglas J.J. Douglas 6'6" | SF Janesville Parker | 2024 State WI — PF — Janseville Parker
I really liked what I saw from Douglas this past winter. I thought that the Janesville Parker power forward was simply dominant as a rebounder. He averaged 15.4 rebounder per game as a junior. Any time the ball clanked off the rim, there was a very good chance that Douglas would be there to snag it. The PF does a really good job of using his 6-foot-6 frame to score, too. He tallied 17 points per content for JVL Parker this past winter.
Sawyer Schipper Sawyer Schipper 6'1" | SG Stoughton | 2024 State WI — PG — Stoughton
Schipper is a perfect under-the-radar prospect. Because his play style isn’t super flashy or exciting, the point guard isn’t going to garner a lot of attention was jaw-dropping highlight tapes. But make no mistake, Schipper is a winning player who gets the job done on the court. He consistently makes the right basketball plays. I also like the versatility that he brings to the table. He can play on the ball as a primary ball handler or spot up on the perimeter. Schipper also always plays with 100 percent effort. Whenever he laces up his sneakers, the PG gives it his all.
Grayson Young Grayson Young 6'2" | CG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2024 State WI — CG — Wisconsin Lutheran
Playing for a loaded Wisconsin Lutheran squad last year, Young didn’t have many opportunities. But when he did play, I liked what I saw from the combo guard. Young is capable of draining outside shots off the dribble or catch. He also is good at creating his own offense and scoring in isolation. Young has a quick first step and is also a capable ball handler. Expect Young to make some noise in the fall and winter.
Peyton McKenna Peyton McKenna 6'2" | PG Germantown | 2024 State WI — PG — Germantown
I thought that McKenna did some really nice things for Germantown this past winter. The numbers that he put up won’t necessarily “wow” you, but he certainly proved himself as a capable player. McKenna is a solid spot-up shooter who has also shown flashes as a shot creator. He does a nice job of driving into the lane and then locating open teammates. I have really liked watching McKenna play and I look forward to seeing how the rest of his career unfolds.
