Here is a list of top players from Saturday morning games in St. Louis at the Prep Hoops Show Me Showdown.
Gavin Peppenhorst Gavin Peppenhorst 6'1" | SG Breese Mater Dei | 2026 IL IL Bears 2026 6’1
Highly active guard that is very athletic. Gavin slashes and dashes better than any guard I watched this morning. He gets to the rim or to the line because he’s able to contour his body when he has good momentum. An underrated part of his game is how well he blocks shots and rebounds. Peppenhorst has a tremendous upside because he stays engaged throughout the game and is very talented.
Kaden Faber (DTM Elite) 2024 6’5
Faber seems to be become a mainstay as a standout at Prep Hoops events. He’s so active on the offensive glass. He uses his length and athleticism very well. When on the perimeter you can count on him to knock a shot down. Kaden continues to progress his game from week to week.
Brad Blackman Brad Blackman 6'4" | SG Crane Med Prep | 2026 IL (Chicago Grinders) 2026 6’3
A very active left-handed big man that seemed to always be around the ball. Brad has good timing and reads the ball off the rim well. This skill leads to numerous tip ins and putbacks. Blackman also had multiple blocks in the two games I watched.
Alioune Mbaye (Chicago Demons) 2024 6’7
Ali is a strong post player who keeps everything fundamentally sound. He has a length to score over smaller guys and can even hit a jump shot or two from mid-range. Mbaye rebounds with the best of them and altered a few shots along the way.
Aaron McClure (Chicago Grinders) 2025 6’5
Aaron is a sneaky uber athletic forward that plays with tons of energy. His best moments were off extra passes that he turned into strong two-handed slams. Aaron is an improving rebounder with the potential to be an excellent shot blocker. His play can help change the course of any game.
Terin Landor Terin Landor 6'0" | PG Zachary | 2025 LA (LA Broncos) 2025
Landor is a steady guard that didn’t seemed to be rattled by the pressure of the Chicago Grinders. He scored several shots from the perimeter and even got to the line a few times. Terin has a smooth looking shot that looks flat but ultimately goes in.
Maddox Ritzel Maddox Ritzel 6'3" | SG Nashville | 2026 State IL (IL Bears) 2026 6’3
Bigger frame forward that the Grinders had a hard time keeping off the boards. Maddox is a crafty finisher around the rim. He can score by force or finesse. Ritzel plays hard and gets involved with many loose balls. He is a tough player to game plan against.
