Johnson University signed [player_tooltip player_id='1262822' first='Jakeb' last='Davis'] a week back, but they are aggressively looking for more players. The reason is that the program hired a new coach, and he needs to fill an entire roster very quickly. Logan Sharp, who played for Alcoa High and Bryan College years back, took over the Johnson University job and hit the ground running. They looked and are looking pretty hard for '23 forwards, of which there are so few available in Tennessee. The only high-end frontcourt players unsigned just picked their schools Wednesday: [player_tooltip player_id='1262199' first='Brock' last='Vice'] (Creighton), [player_tooltip player_id='962435' first='Stephen' last='Olowoniyi'] (VMI). They did find one forward, though he is more of a 2/3 than a classic 4 in [player_tooltip player_id='1416545' first='Dallas' last='Carbaugh'].

Senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='1553771' first='Ethan' last='Turner'] committed to Bryan College, but after some rumination decided to pick Bethel University. The idea is that Ethan wanted to stay closer to home. Bryan College is located in Dayton, Tennessee, a small town just north of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Gibson County High School is in Dyer, Tennessee.

The new staff at Trevecca Nazarene put in a strong push for local talent as soon as former Lipscomb Assistant Coach [player_tooltip player_id='2504204' first='Kevin' last='Carroll'] was hired in the final week of March. Bizarrely, Trevecca really did not recruit the city hard with their last staff. It makes no sense, as the location is almost right downtown Nashville. That might change, if the first month is any indication. One guy that is hearing from TNU, just this week in fact is Rocco Lamuno (Ravenwood). Rocco was perhaps the best of his AAU career during the final weekend of April. Union University is also in communication with the guard.

Tusculum is in the early process of tracking 2026's. Here are a few: [player_tooltip player_id='1914179' first='Owen' last='McClaran'], Bryant Hall Jr., Keilan Dalton, Grayson Scragg.
