Richard Vinansky Richard Vinansky 6'3" | C Mid Valley | 2024 State PA | 6’4″ | F | Mid Valley
A soon to be four year varsity player, Vinansky took another step forward in his game as a junior, combining a strong frame and physicality with a solid ability to hit shots further away from the hoop, including beyond the 3 point line. He can handle the ball, hit the boards and get out in transition. He could project as a wing in college if his shooting continues to develop into his senior year. Helped his team to a deep playoff run and had some big performances, including going for nearly 30 vs Scranton High.
George Sabatini | 6’6″ | F | Holy Redeemer
While Redeemer often utilized smaller lineups to take advantage of superior guard play to their opponents, Sabatini provided them a spark with his size and physical presence in the post. He hits the boards pretty well and can also spark the break with outlet passes. He’s capable of finishing around the rim. An effective shot blocker with good timing and active hands to create steals.
Luke Gennaro Luke Gennaro 6'0" | PG Hazelton | 2024 State PA | 5’9″ | G | Hazleton Area
Gennaro is the bus driver for the Cougars offensively. A confident ballhandler with a quick first step and good passing ability. He’s shown an ability to be a facilitator at the next level. He runs a textbook fast break–to the foul line–and can finish with pull up jumpers or make smart passes to get easy buckets for teammates. Hazleton is one of the traditional power players in the Coal Region and with Gennaro and others returning, should be a tough out next winter.
Joey Marshall | 6’4″ | F | Hazleton Area
Marshall is a tough post player who can also step outside the arc and hit shots on offense–which he did pretty consistently as a junior. He has shown an ability to hit the boards well and also can redirect shots. He had a few noteworthy performances last year, including 19 vs Whitehall. He averaged 8 and 7 but those numbers should rise this coming season.
Jaidyn Johnson | 6’5″ | F | Nanticoke
The Trojans have come on of late as a contender in the Wyoming Valley and Johnson is their top player currently. He’s got the ability to score at multiple levels and can put the ball on the floor to get to the rim through traffic and finish with physicality around the rim. A confident scorer, he also is the top rebounder for the Trojans as well. Johnson can handle the ball well for a frontcourt player. He had a double-double vs Scranton Prep and Bethlehem Catholic–A solid senior season with regular performances like those could have Johnson on the radar for colleges throughout the region.
