Here are some guards to know from the 17U ranks of the Jayhawk Jam (in alphabetical order):

Damon Alexander Damon Alexander 6'1" | SG KC Washington | 2024 State KS
Alexander was one of the most impressive guards in the 17U grouping at the Jayhawk Jam. This kid is long and plays with energy and passion. He has a good handle and uses his length to his advantage handling the ball against small guards. He is angular and athletic, knifing his way through defenses to get to the goal. He’s a really good passer from the guard spot, with vision and knowledge of how to create spaces for himself and others. He knocked down plenty of shots from distance too.
Antonio Garrett
Antonio Garrett
LTD Select showed off some flashy, high energy guards that gave the team great tempo all weekend. Garrett was one of the primary ball handlers. He set up teammates and also created shots for himself. He’s got good size for a point guard.
Kreighton Kanitz
Kreighton Kanitz
Kanitz has already played a ton of high-level basketball, and his experience shows. He is a tough, gritty player who plays with confidence. He can shoot it from deep, but he does a lot of other things well too. He’s an athlete who can defend on the perimeter and block shots of opposing guards. He handles the ball and is daring in his playmaking.
Elijah Lacy
Elijah Lacy
Lacy is a tough guard with a really nice handle and the combination of power and quickness to get where he wants on the court. He made a lot of plays on penetration, slicing through defenses all weekend. He got to the goal and finished in transition. Lacy is a high-energy, bouncy guard who plays with a ton of passion.
Jalen Manning
Jalen Manning
Manning looked good running the point for a talented group of older players who joined forces for the weekend. Manning is a traditional pass-first quarterback at the point and he does a good job of controlling the tempo and pushing it when the time is right. Though he’s not tall, Manning is solid and plays with toughness through contact. He hit a game-winning shot in one of PGU’s games.
Stewart Mitchell
Stewart Mitchell
There are a lot of good young guards at Junction City, so minutes have been tough to come by. But Mitchell really impressed as a playmaking point guard for PGU at the Jayhawk Jam. He’s quick and plays with his an aggressive style while not turning the ball over. He sees the floor and gets the ball where it needs to go, often to an open shooter. Mitchell is quick and athletic and really impressed as a new name to know.
