2029 All-Tournament Team
Guard – Gryason Wyss | Ops 2029 Black | Blackhawk (Indiana)
Wyss is a dead-eye shooter with a smooth, soft release. He was easily one of the best outside shooters of the entire event, regardless of class. Ops Black have a polarizing backcourt duo that won’t intimidate you with size but will keep you scratching your head on how to stop them. Wyss already has the skills to shoot off the catch or off the dribble with good rhythm and balance.
Guard – Jamauru Benson | Team Flyght Ohio 2029 (Ohio)
Benson is a playmaker in every sense of the word. He flashes on the court and he seems to always be around the action. Benson is one of those players that is hard to take off the court despite how hard he plays. He truly brings the best out of the team and was one of the best “glue” guys we saw.
Wing/Forward – Jack Boland | All H.E.A.R.T. Basketball Club | St. Louis Elementary (Ohio)
Boland was the best player on the best team. He led All H.E.A.R.T. to a perfect 5-0 record and earned the Championship awards on Sunday. Although a lot of 12U players are positionless, Boland was a clear-cut point forward. He would routinely snatch rebounds and advance the ball down the court looking for opportunities for himself or his teammates. Boland had great touch in the paint area and showed the ability to knock down a few outside shots as well.
Wing/Forward – Michael Hadley | All H.E.A.R.T. Basketball Club | Goshen (Ohio)
Hadley was often the fortunate recipient of Boland’s point-forward playmaking. Hadley was clearly one of the best scorers of the weekend and seemed to be in rhythm every moment he was on the court. As the competition improved, Hadley showed the ability to defend at a high-level and helped force opposing players into tough shots that would lead to transition opportunities for his squad.
Wing/Forward – Vinny | Illinois Kings 2029 | Troy Middle School (Illinois)
Vinny is a burst of energy as soon as he walks onto the court. He goes full-tilt with or without the ball. His aggressiveness towards the rim was often unmatched by the defenders. Although he did most of his damage around the paint, he wasn’t afraid to catch and shoot from the perimeter. The Illinois Kings brought a deep bench but Vinny was one of the few players that consistently produced game-winning plays while he was on the court.
Honorable Mention
Guard – Quinn Higgins | All H.E.A.R.T. Basketball Club | St. James (Ohio)
Guard – Ducky Ash | Ops 2029 Black | Woodside (Indiana)
Guard – Jaishawn Riley | Team Flyght Ohio 2029 (Ohio)
Guard – Travis Rivers Jr. | Clarksville Crossovers (Tennessee)
