12U Top Wings/Forwards
Chad Carter | 5’6” | Illinois Kings 2029 | Minooka Middle School (Illinois)
Carter is developing into a versatile playmaker that becomes a threat everywhere on the court. Playing with a group that uses a mixed lineup, Carter maximized his time on the court by playing tough on-the-ball defense and fighting for rebounds. His timing to contest shots was another area of his game that is impressive. As his jump shot progresses, he can use his strong right-hand dribble drive to his advantage to get easy attempts in the paint and capitalize at the free-throw line.
Ayden Simcoe | 5’7” | Ops 2029 Black | Lincoln (Indiana)
Simcoe was one of the better all-around wings at the event. In every game, he showcased his versatility by playing down low and along the perimeter. He can initiate the offense and he can run off screens for his own shots. Good things tend to happen with the ball in Ayden’s hands. He is a high usage player that can get take the occasional contested jump shot but with a shortened roster, sometimes you gotta respect the heat checks. His mobility and footwork are well developed and his perimeter shooting will become more consistent.
Myrion LaMonte Hartwell | 5’9” | Clarksville Crossovers 2029 | (Tennessee)
Hartwell was one of the toughest players we saw. He runs the floor with purpose and snatches anything in his area. Over the course of the weekend, he showcased great court awareness and patience around the paint. Hartwell is very comfortable in the pick-and-roll action. He displayed high basketball IQ by changing his angles of screens and creating passing lanes for the guards. Hartwell was very active around the rim constantly seeking tip-ins.
Devonne Johnson Jr. | Team Flyght 2029
Johnson Jr. is a developing wing that showed good ball skills and soft touch around the rim. He is an athletic wing that found success utilizing the high and low posts. Playing with a group of aggressive, offensive-minded guards, Johnson Jr. held his own by staying engaged on both ends of the court. Throughout the event, he showcased the ability to score inside or outside, play tough defense, and be a playmaker that gets his teammates opportunities. He displayed a soft touch and quick bounce for putback layups.
Vinny | Illinois Kings 2029 | Troy Middle School (Illinois)
