Nic Gaspar Nic Gaspar 6'2" | SG Dell Rapids St. Mary | 2024 State SD (2025) |6’2 SG| Sanford Sports 2024 White
WHY? Multiple times he had to guard the opposing team’s BIG guys and he took that challenge head-on. Gaspar was ultra-physical and he got the job done. Nic is a “yes man” that will do whatever is asked of him.
Brody Weigel Brody Weigel 6'0" | SG Bismarck Legacy | 2026 State ND (2026) |6’0 G| ECI Selects 2026 Gold
WHY? He is a great defender for ECI. Brody is always the one to find the other team’s top-scoring threat and he does whatever he can to shut them down. At the same time, Weigel is a great shooter, but he changes the game on the defensive end of the floor.
Camden Aufforth Camden Aufforth 6'1" | CG Minot | 2025 State ND (2025) |6’0 G| 3ND 2025
WHY? He had a 3 game run of double figures where he scored 13 pts, 12 pts, and 11. Camden averaged 8.2 ppg for the weekend. Aufforth did the little this for 3ND. He provided great floor spacing and cashed in 3-pointers when the team needed them. Aufforth played solid defense and he was the “glue guy” for two days at the Stomping Grounds.
Kaden Flavin Kaden Flavin 5'11" | SG Minot | 2025 State ND (2025) |5’11 G| 3ND 2025
WHY? He set the tone defensively. Flavin regularly matches up with the opposing team’s top perimeter scoring threat. Kaden averaged 11.2 ppg throughout the weekend and drained 4 triples in one half against a Sanford squad. He is a two-way player.
Jesse Van Kalsbeek Jesse Van Kalsbeek 6'6" | SF MOC-Floyd Valley | 2024 State IA (2024) |6’4 G/F| Sanford Sports 2024 UA
WHY? He played extremely hard all weekend. Jesse always seemed to come up with those 50/50 balls. He also gave the team extra possessions by pounding the offensive glass. Van Kalsbeek is a freak athlete with a high ceiling.
Alec Squires Alec Squires 6'10" | C Sioux Valley | 2024 State #280 Nation SD (2024) |6’10 C| Sanford Sports 2024 UA
WHY? He provided stout post/block defense. Squires came into the game on Friday night and shut down the block as a scoring option. He is a tough and resilient player. Alec was a beast on the boards, finished well, and had a few impressive WHAMs.
Joel Nelson Joel Nelson 6'6" | SF Devils Lake | 2025 State ND (2025) |6’4 F| Bears Tail Basketball 16U Swanson
WHY? He played extremely hard on both ends of the floor. Nelson was a beast on the glass and he had multiple blocks in every game this past weekend. Joel also had a colossal go-ahead bucket late in a game to help his team pick up a win.
Mahki Winter (2024) |6’4 G/F| Sanford Sports 2025 White
WHY? He overpowered many defenders on the way to the rim. Winter made a lot of tough finishes around the basket. He was very efficient on offense. Mahki shot a blistering 70 FG%, he averaged 10 ppg.
Jaden Haley-Cordova Jaden Haley-Cordova 6'1" | PG Sioux Falls Lincoln | 2026 State SD (2026) South Dakota Elite 15U
WHY? He was likely the best passer on the floor for this SD Elite team. Jaden averaged between 5 & 6 apg. He was excellent at setting up Graff for shots. Jaden created off the dribble and found the lethal shooter. On defense, he got deflections and grabbed rebounds on both ends. Jaden had some nice scoring games but stuck out with his court vision and passing.
Beau Leslie Beau Leslie 5'11" | SG Brandon Valley | 2025 State SD (2025) |5’11 G| Sacred Hoops Edman
WHY? He was always looking to make the extra pass to get a teammate an open look. Leslie loves the challenge of being asked to guard the other team’s best player. The great thing is, Beau can guard multiple positions and it does not slow him down. He can keep a PG in front of him and will battle with a forward that is 4 inches taller. Leslie plays with heart and unselfishness.
Carter Baasch Carter Baasch 5'7" | SG Maple River | 2025 State ND (2025) |5’8 G| ECI 2025 Selects
WHY? He is not the tallest guard on the floor but Baasch is one of the top perimeter defenders on his ECI squad. He moves his feet well and plays gritty. Carter has noteworthy ball skills and I like the pace that he plays with. He can also drain the triples. You do not want to give Baasch much room when he has the ball outside of the arc.
