You’re usually on the move, have to make split decisions on the fly and instinctively get your teammates open shots and score. The correct play has to be executed or it will usually spell disaster for your team. The players on this list are big time point guard prospects that usually have the ball in their hands and are adept at making decisions on the fly to help their team win.
Brayden Edgell
Brayden Edgell
Brayden Edgell is a 5’11” point guard from Lincoln High School in Shinnston, West Virginia. Edgell is a crafty and versatile point guard that is able to spread the floor, score at the hole or pass the rock. He is a quick decision maker and has a high basketball IQ. Edgell is good at reading the defense and takes what he is given. Edgell looks to improve his numbers in his senior season and help lead Lincoln High on the floor in the 2023-2024 season.
Tate Adkins Tate Adkins 6’3″ | SG SPRING VALLEY | 2024 State WV is a 6’2″ point guard from Spring Valley High School in Huntington, West Virginia. Adkins is a long point guard that can score the ball but also get his teammates involved. He has a consistent shot that you can’t lay off of him or he will drain the 3 and if you guard him, he has handles and can get by you or pass to the open man. Adkins has quick feet and plays good consistent defense. Adkins comes into his senior season looking to improve on his stats and help lead Spring Valley in the 2023-2024 season.

Quentin Burlenski is a 6’2″ point guard from Wheeling County Catholic High School in West Virginia. Burlenski is a high-level guard that can score the ball at all 3 levels of the court. He is a good shooter that can spread the floor with his shot making or is good at penetrating the paint, drawing the defense to him and hitting the open man. Burlenski is a good defender and moves his feet well to stay in front of the opposing player on defense. Burlenski will be counted on by Wheeling Central to lead them on the court and improve his numbers in the 2023-2024 season.

Tavarish Porter
Tavarish Porter is a 5’11” point guard from Nitro High School in West Virginia. Porter is a ball hawk that is electric and can get in the paint to score the ball at the hole or draw the defense and kick it to the open man. Porter consistently scores the ball at all 3 levels on the court and plays good, hard defense. Porter is an important player for Nitro High and will be counted on to lead them on the court in 2023-2024.
Bryar Bailes Bryar Bailes 5’11” | PG Midland Trail | 2024 State WV is a 5’10” point guard from Nicholos County High School in Summersville, West Virginia. Bailes is a versatile and tough nosed guard that scores the ball at all 3 levels and is adept at finding the open man. Bailes is a smart decision maker and is able to follow his coach’s game plan to a tee. Bailes will come into his senior season looking to continue his strong play and lead Nicholos County on the floor in 2023-2024.
