Donavahn Cain of J Sizzle (Link Hoops, 6’3 SG). Cain was at Link Prep this past year and reclassified to the 2023 group so he is an unsigned senior at 17u for the second year, and if people were watching this past weekend it might pay off. Cain scored 104 points in four games as that corner shooting stroke that we’ve seen Cain light up opponents with was on once again.
Eli Ehrke Eli Ehrke 6'3" | SG Glencoe-Silver Lake | 2024 State MN of Minnesota Fury (Glencoe-Silver Lake, 6’3 SG). Eli has really found his groove this May and the Fury are grooving right along with the big, strong skilled guard/wing. Eli did some secondary handling, he slashed well, jumper was falling and he had another consistent weekend allowing Fury to win the Scheels Prospect Series.
Andrew King Andrew King 6'4" | SF Spring Lake Park | 2024 State MN of Northstar Titans (Spring Lake Park, 6’4 Wing). King had a fantastic weekend playing against some of the better 17u teams in the state of Wisconsin. King had a really nice weekend shooting the ball and he did it without forcing much for attempts, and he did it moving the basketball to his teammates. A solid shooter with a big time GPA and a growing game that has me thinking top academic MIACs will be seeking him out soon (if they aren’t already).
Gavin Olson Gavin Olson 6'2" | SG Waconia | 2024 State MN of Minnesota Select Fuerte (Waconia, 6’2 Guard). I feel like Gavin is a fantastic representative of Select Fuerte: consistent, successful, and while conversations might not flow to them all the time, they are always winning and surprising people. Olson is a fantastic worker and decision maker who is skilled and a harder worker than most. The type of guy that likely led his team in scoring this weekend without ever leading the team in scoring in a game.
Chiang Ring Chiang Ring 6'8" | C Park Center | 2024 State #276 Nation MN of J Sizzle (Park Center, 6’8 Big). Ring is the best shot blocker in Minnesota high school basketball and he did that this weekend. He’s the best lob finisher in the state and he did that as well leading the team to a 3-1 weekend. Ring’s three point shooting struck seems to get a little bit better all the time and this weekend he hit multiple threes both teams he went for 20 plus.
Jack Robison Jack Robison 6'7" | SF Lakeville North | 2024 State #158 Nation MN of Howard Pulley (Lakeville North, 6’7 wing). The box scores from this past weekend list Jack scoring 113 points in five games meaning the Wisconsin commit scored at nearly a point a minute rate! That brings Jack’s scoring rate to 16.5 points a game in EYCL play. Daniel Freitag Daniel Freitag 6'1" | PG Breck | 2024 State #142 Nation MN ‘s name was not in the box scores meaning he must not have been available this weekend and Robison most certainly stepped up.
