The prospects in the building displayed eye-catching talents. Springing into circuit season, there are many players to keep an eye on going into the Summer. In both blowouts and nail biters, athletes came to compete and get exposure. It’s not always about what is on the scoreboard but the high-level skills displayed at such a developing age. Below, I’ve highlighted the “Stars In Their Role” that I watched compete at “The Stage”.
Prep Hoops Next “The Stage” was packed with notable players and teams over the weekend.
DJ Nicholson |G| Foundation Athletics
Nicholson moved like a secret agent in the half court and was a reliable floor spacer for Fountain Athletics. The deep range sniper has a knack for finding cracks in the defense. He was at his best off flares and pin downs.
Zaihir Jones |G| Chapman Basketball Academy
Jones was the energy leader for the 14U Champs. He was a menace on defense and his willingness to fill lanes in transition was apparent. His impact caused chaos on defense and early offense. Most impressive was his ability to get hot from behind the arc.
Bryce Garnett |G| Clarksville Crossover
Garnett was a reliable source of scoring for Clarksville Crossover. He covers a lot of space when probing for his shot. He was able to heat up quickly when he found his rhythm and hit shots in succession. Most impressive was his court vision after drawing help defenders.
Jack Broderson |G| Chapman Basketball Academy
Broderson is a silky smooth guard who does it all on a stacked Chapman Basketball Academy Gold Elite team. He was able to snatch boards and push the pace as well as . His ability to get open after plays broke down stood out most to me. He starred in his role for the 14U champs.
