The prospects in the building displayed eye-catching talents. Springing into circuit season, there are many players to keep an eye on going into the Summer. In both blowouts and nail biters, athletes came to compete and get exposure. It’s not always about what is on the scoreboard but the high-level skills displayed at such a developing age. Below, I’ve highlighted the “Front Court Stars” that I watched compete at “The Stage”.
Luke Henderson |G| Kansas Players
Henderson is a steady floor general who carried out his team’s game plan at a high level. His ability to find teammates consistently opened up driving lanes for him to attack. His balance and footwork had teams picking their poison. He was at his best in the pick and roll and reading what the defense gave him.
Trey Resch |G| Chapman Basketball Academy
Resch had his hands in many plays for the 14U champs. The two-way guard was proactive in their press as well as the half court. He brought a balanced scoring attack to the floor, hitting shots from range and attacking the lane. Most impressive was his patience and shot selection.
Tarvar Baskerville |G| OPS 27
Baskerville is a quick witted guard that was highly effective attacking the basket. His quick first step was a major tool to his success. His light shined the brightest when pushing the pace in transition. Most impressive was his balance and body control when finishing in the lane.
Mike Rogers Jr |G| Chapman Basketball Academy
Rogers had the ball on a string and always had his head to make the right play. The vigilant guard is an effective scorer on all three levels of the floor. Most impressive was his ability to score in the mid range after being run off the three point line. His impact played a major role in Chapman Basketball Academys’ Championship run.
