One of the oldest live period events in the country took place this past weekend, as Hoop Group put on their annual Pitt Jamfest. As always, the event was loaded with teams and prospects from all over the country, and the baselines were packed with college coaches from all over the country as well.

We'll be breaking down some of the standouts from all over the Prep Hoops Networks, looking here at some of the prospects from teams from NY and NJ.

Chike Ndefo | 6'7” PF | Crown Basketball 17U

Ndefo was one of the most productive players I saw all weekend, as he was dominant in almost every game and showed improvement in the areas he needs to. At 6'7” he is a load to deal with in the paint as he's strong and clears out space but also is bouncy and can explode to finish at or above the rim. He ran the floor hard and crashed the glass consistently, he brought it defensively with his ability to protect the rim and switch and he showed improvement in his outside shot too.

Joshua Decady | 6'8” C | Crown Basketball 17U

Decady is a little bit more of a project than Ndefo is, but the two of them proved to be too much for other teams as Crown went on to win one of the 3 main 17U brackets. The 6'8” big man is mobile and runs the floor well, he gets off his feet quickly and can protect the rim and he plays with a good motor that allows him to be productive in a number of ways. He has room to continue to improve moving forward and I believe he'll get a lot of more interest throughout the summer.

Roderick Jones II | 6'0” CG | Crown Basketball 17U

Jones was huge for Crown in their championship rounds on Sunday, as the 6'0” combo guard was lights out when it counted the most. He showed good range from deep, a quick release that allows him to get his shot off and he can handle the rock and makes good decisions as well. The way he stepped up in the most clutch times means he's a gamer and isn't afraid of playing against the best.

[player_tooltip player_id='1153956' first='Jeremy' last='Clayville'] | 6'1” CG | All In Beasts 17U

Clayville was one of the more skilled guards we came across, as the 6'1” combo showed the ability to do a little bit of everything on the offensive end of the floor. He was one of the best pure shooters I saw as he shot the ball well from deep and showed he can do so both off the bounce and off the catch. He plays with a good IQ and is a natural leader, and had some big time performances.

Kasean Shillingford | 6'11” C | House We Built 17U

It's really hard to ignore Shillingford, who was one of if not the biggest prospect in the event by stature. At 6'11” he's a towering presence in the post who can alter and block shots on the defensive end, he moves well and gets up and down and he dominates the glass on both ends of the floor. He has good hands and touch around the rim, and he's far from a finished product who has a lot of room to continue to improve.

Kabe Goss | 5'7” PG | [program_tooltip program_id='2078569' first='Jersey' last='Force'] 17U

Goss may not look the part as he's usually the smallest player on the floor, but he can absolutely boogie and was a tough guard for anyone. He's lightning quick with the ball in his hands with blow by speed in transition, he is shifty and will leave defenders looking foolish with the ball in his hands and he has a great finishing package in the paint. He's a tough as nails lead guard who makes others better and can take over when he needs to.

Dante Depante | 6'4” WG | Shoreshots Rio HGSL 17U

Depante was one of the more intriguing available prospects at the event, as he put up big numbers for Shoreshots while being efficient and playing the right way. The 6'4” wing has a good frame and an advanced game as he's a triple threat at all times with a good feel for the game too. He can score the ball from deep and in the midrange, he draws contact and gets to the line consistently and he makes good reads whether he's handling it or coming off screens to get open.
