During the high school season, these bigs were a force down low, having there fingerprints all over the outcome of games. Here are a list of Bigs in the 2024 class that showed huge upside, and are taking the momentum into the travel season.
Godswill Erheriene
Godswill Erheriene
Erheriene is a versatile big with great footwork and athleticism. So far during the spring , Erheriene has proven to be one of the best bigs on the 3ssb circuit. He is extremely mobile, and has the ability get up and down the floor in transition. Erheriene also has great hands and the ability to get for slams. On defense, Erheriene is a consistent shot blocker and anchor. During the high school season, his skillset was on full display with Luhi, including A 20 point, 8 rebound performance in a win against Albany Academy.
Matthew Gilhool
Matthew Gilhool
Gilhool is a versatile forward that has the ability to dominate a game in multiple ways. He is a lefty that can score on the inside, while having a smooth jumpshot from beyond the arc. One aspect that stands out about his game is his high level playmaking. Its not everyday you see a player nearly 7 feet tall that can handle the ball in traffic, and unselfishly find open teammates, but Gilhool can. He will be a player to watch, as he heads to Luhi next season.
Pang started off the spring hot, starting off with a game winning buzzer beater in the Throne hoops for Christ the King. Pang also recently stoodout at the first session of the EYBL. Pang is highly skilled on offense and can run the floor well. He has the ability to rebound and go coast to coast for tough finishes. He also can power up in half court sets and rise above the defense for slams. Pang holds offers from Rutgers, Missouri, Michigan and more.
Pray is a strong forward, that makes a huge impact on both ends of the floor. On offense , Pray has great hands and can finish through contact. He also has a variety of moves with his back to the basket. Pray also has the ability to put the ball on the floor with great ball control, especially for his size. During the high school season, he was an anchor on defense for Iona Prep, with his ability to block and alter opposing team’s shots without fouling on full display. He is a player who is set to have a dominant spring and summer.
Solano is a big time rim protector, with elite athleticism. He gets up for dunks often and is a glass cleaner on both ends of the floor. Solano also has an extremely high motor and plays with intensity. Solano also displays a high basketball IQ on defense, understanding defensive rotations and how to be at the right place at the right time. During Cardinal Hayes’ regular season and Postseason , Solano was an essential piece of the team and is now making some serious noise with expressions.
