Perhaps the most fun team to watch at Lawrence was a group of scrappy, infectious ballers from North Dakota led by the brilliant scoring Bradley (pictured). He’s not tall, nor big, nor overly explosive. But he knows how to create space, get shots off and generate havoc all over the floor. Despite playing nearly every minute for a team that lost a heartbreaker, then won a thriller in double overtime, he just kept generating buckets. In the OT, he hit the game-winning bucket on one of his many creative shots. He was deadly from deep all day.
One of the better shooters in the building on Saturday, Gardner uses his length to get shots off and he finds openings on the perimeter. He’s a long wing who can battle in the paint and brings in a lot of rebounds. He runs the floor and is always available as a guy with a nose for points.
Highlights
Ashton Metoyer
Ashton Metoyer
Metoyer is a physical guard who brings energy and defense at all times. He plays with a smile on his face that belies his all-out intensity. He’s on the floor, crashing into bodies and flying up and down the court at every opportunity. He is a physical lefty who can play through contact to get buckets and he’s got a knack for creating turnovers.
Eestyn Prater
Eestyn Prater
One of the most effective all-around scorers on the day, Prater got it done playing up with the 17Us. He’s a tough, physical driver who can play through contact, get to the rim, and get shots off in traffic. He racked up a lot of buckets as a smart scorer who can also kick the ball to open shooters on the drive.
Brodee Rheinberger
Brodee Rheinberger
Rheinberger lit it up Saturday, mainly as a catch-and-release wing. He’s a big-bodied player who guards and rebounds with toughness. There is a lot of talent around him on the Arnold Elite team, but his shooting touch stands out.
