First-Team
Dawson Farmer
Dawson Farmer
Farmer was my MVP in the 2028 class for this event. He is an athletic slasher that is really good finishing around the rim with either hand. Uses his athleticism to get to the paint and score over defenders. Will look to play in transition by getting rebounds and going quick. Was a big time threat all weekend on the offensive glass crashing from the wing. Unbelievable upside.
DJ Caldwell
DJ Caldwell
Caldwell is one of the more polished prospects I have seen for age. Has great size, would be most teams center, but he has very good guard skills. Has an extremely high IQ, never got sped up, made passes that not many kids his age can make. Was at his best around the rim when he scored as he is continuing to develop his jump shot. Capable 3pt shooter. Overall a very intriguing long term prospect.
Jay McPherson
Jay McPherson
McPherson is a natural point guard that has such a natural feel for the game. It seemed like he always knew when to pass or takeover the game but never played outside himself. When he got teammates shots, he got them easy looks by using his quickness to collapse the defense and find open shoots. Was one of my favorite players from the weekend.
Tyson Duke
Tyson Duke
Duke was virtually unstoppable this weekend getting to the rim. Has great athleticism and strength to not only get by guys but finish thru contact. When the games became up tempo was when he really excelled. He did a great job getting rebounds and leading the break. Has 3pt range, especially if he shoots off the catch.
Connor Kidd
Connor Kidd
Kidd was one of the best guards this weekend. Has a great handle, can see plays before it happens and is super crafty around the rim. He’s not the quickest or most athletic guy on the court, but his handle allows for him to get to any spot on the floor he wants. He forced some contested shots at times but made some tough ones as well. He is the type of player you want to play with.
