Team Loaded West Virginia:
Team Loaded West Virginia was in attendance in Rock Hill, SC this past weekend. The roster had UNSIGNED Senior Eli Allen Eli Allen 6'4" | PG James Monroe | 2023 WV , Jackson Smith Jackson Smith 6'3" | SG Parkersburg South | 2024 State WV and Dawson Lunsford Dawson Lunsford 6'3" | PG George Washington | 2024 State WV to name a few.
Allen a back-to-back state champion at James Monroe HS just brings the complete package to the table. He constantly makes winning plays on the floor when it comes to decision making, converting shots and being a great teammate. Eli is always in the right place to make a play it seems. Allen doesn’t credit as he should for being a creative passer at times. He took the rock a few times here today and finished on the break.
Smith came out hitting some shots from downtown. Jackson who attends Parkersburg South HS was able to set his feet and let it fly well beyond the three-point line. Smith does a nice job of really showing some elevation on his shot.
Lunsford connected on some shots here today in the win. Dawson plays the game very heady from out in the backcourt. He makes defenders pay when left open on the floor.
Clark Can Score:
Jayden Clark Jayden Clark 5'10" | PG Huntington | 2024 State WV really showed some good scoring moves this weekend down in Rock Hill. Clark is running with Big Shots West Virginia Reign Elite Slam this spring. Jayden shows great body control to the basket while absorbing contact on the way. Clark played off the ball a lot here today and had plenty of freedom to score the ball. Jayden stuck some jumpers from the perimeter while showing a lot of confidence from all 3 levels of the floor at times.
Kellum Makes Impact:
Roman Kellum Roman Kellum 6'5" | PF South Charleston | 2025 State WV didn’t score much today when I watched him. He does really impact a game with his MOTOR. Roman is constantly on the move and communicating to his teammates on the floor. Kellum is always looking to make a HUSTLE play on the floor. Today he was saddled in foul trouble for the West Virginia Hustle Big Shots Lambert squad.
Kellum has plenty of bounce and shows the ability to defend on the perimeter and in the post very well. Roman looks to be a name to hear about in the 2025 Class in the next few years at South Charleston HS.
Class of 2025:
Preston Luzader Preston Luzader 6'7" | C Clay Battelle | 2025 State WV really does a good job of using his body to seal out down low. Preston can step-out and knockdown the mid-range jumper. He has great hands and seems to catch everything thrown in his direction. He will be an ideal stretch 4-man down the road. Luzader attends Clay Batelle HS in Blacksville. Preston is running with ESF Threat 16U on the Grassroots Circuit.
Trevan Bonner Trevan Bonner 6'0" | CG Tucker County | 2025 State WV was not in attendance as he’s out currently with an injury for a few months according to Big Shots West Virginia Reign Elite 2025 Head Coach Ronnie Nuzum.
Max Wilcox Max Wilcox 6'3" | SG Charleston Catholic | 2025 State WV doesn’t have a flashy game at all, but he seems to be effective when he’s on the floor. Wilcox attends Charleston Catholic. Wilcox will connect on the 3-ball with a bit of hitch in his shooting release. Max always seemed to make the most out of his spacing on the floor along with his productive shot selection.
Class of 2026:
Noah Lewis Noah Lewis 6'6" | PF George Washington | 2026 State WV is tough just like a $2 dollar steak. Lewis really thrives on playing on contact down low. He delivers punches time after time with his blue-collar mentality in the paint. Noah will look to carve out space with his back to the basket. He really does a nice job of battling through for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Lewis attends George Washington HS.
