Participants ranged from freshman in the class of 2026 to unsigned seniors from the class of 2023. There was tons of talent in the gym and the players brought the energy from start to finish. Here are some of the players that stood out:
Tyler Milleville
Tyler Milleville
Tyler Milleville is a 6’7 small forward from Starpoint High School and is in the graduating class of 2024. Milleville has a smooth approach to the game and uses his long, lanky frame to his advantage. Offensively he has good touch in the paint and uses his footwork to score over smaller defenders. In the showcase, Milleville ran the floor well and positioned himself nicely for dump offs from teammates. Strong rebounder, especially on the defensive end.
Jamel Johnson Jr.
Jamel Johnson Jr.
Jamel Johnson is a 6’1 shooting guard from Royalton-Hartland High School and is in the graduating class of 2023. Johnson brought a great energy and played with pace during the scrimmage portion of the showcase. Very active on the defensive end, he had several deflections, caused turnovers and created easy layup opportunities in transition for his team. Good athlete and very capable on the offensive end of the floor as well, has the ability to find driving lanes and finished at the rim through contact.
Zach Sisson
Zach Sisson
Zach Sisson is a 6’2 shooting guard from Filmore Central High School and is in the graduating class of 2023. Sisson was one of the most efficient players we saw on the day and left a positive impact on the game every time he was on the floor. The lefty is smooth off the dribble and makes quick decisions on the offensive end. He showed the ability to finish at the rim through contact and find his teammates when he drew help side defenders. He is a very capable shooter from both the catch and off the dribble, he has a smooth stroke from distance and consistently knocked down open shots.
Francis Channing
Francis Channing
Francis Channing is a 6’1 combo guard from the Nichols School in Amherst, NY and is in the graduating class of 2024. Channing has impressive athleticism and put his jumping ability on display, finishing above the rim both in skills stations and in the live scrimmage segments. Extremely explosive and uses it well on both ends of the floor. Offensively he has the ability to knock down perimeter shots but most impressive is his ability to make simple moves to get by his defender. As an on ball defender he has the ability to disrupt the game by turning the ball handler and creating turnovers and deflections.
Christopher McDonald
Christopher McDonald
Christopher McDonald is a 6’5 small forward from Orchard Park High School and is in the graduating class of 2024. Offensively, McDonald can be a threat both on the inside and the outside, causing matchup nightmares for the opposition. He has great footwork and has no problem scoring from the post in 1 on 1 situations. Great touch around the basket and also displayed good passing ability from the post, finding his teammates with passes that were on time and on target on several occasions.
Parker Rey
Parker Rey
Parker Rey is a 6’3 small forward from the Nichols School and is in the graduating class of 2024. From the minute the skills stations started it was apparent that Parker Rey was one of the most athletic young men in the gym on this Sunday morning. Rey was showcasing his handle and his ability to finish above the rim and continued once the game play started. Strong, athletic and explosive on both ends of the floor. Offensively he plays well off the catch and sets himself up for driving lanes, has the ability to beat single defenders and finish strong through contact at the rim. Great motor, played with high energy and stayed locked in for the whole showcase. Defensively he showed he can guard multiple positions, whether battling for position on the blocks or sitting down in a stance to guard a ball handler, Rey can get it done.
