Booker Schirk
Booker Schirk
It’s rare that young players have a signature skill, but Schirk was the best mid range shooter I saw all weekend. It wasn’t just his ability to make shots from mid range, but the fact that he was able to get to the exact spot he wanted on the floor before knocking down his patent shot. If I didn’t know better, you would think the lefty has spent thousands of hours pefecting making shots from exactly 15 feet.
Melo Mason
Melo Mason
Mason provides me with a glimpse into the future of shooting guards. A fearless player, that believes every shot is going in, Mason showed good form, hitting several deep shots during the couple games I watched. He has an effortless release, shooting the ball naturally and accurately from distance.
Gavin Jacobs
Gavin Jacobs
I liked what Jacobs did. The wing, gave good effort on both sides of the ball. He showed some perimeter skills on offense, having success putting the ball on the floor, and was versatile enough on the defensive end to defend both wings and interior players alike.
Pierce Price
Pierce Price
I like players that compete and Price did just that. He sprinted lanes and showed good agility, and the ability to catch and finish. Price made all of his layup in the game I watched, keeping his eyes on the rim, while showing good fundamental finishing ability.
Matty Martin
Matty Martin
Martin has a smooth game. The c/o 2028 shooting guard was one of the better sharpshooters I saw, making three trey’s in the game I watched. His game isn’t just limited to shooting, as his combination of shooting, dribbling and passing was as high of any player in his class that I saw at the event.
Noah Ondouri
Noah Ondouri
Ondouri was another player that played against older competition, competiting against varsity level players. The PG more than held his own, showing terrific speed with the ball in his hands, as well as the ability to be a force on the defensive end of the floor.
Eric Melendez
Eric Melendez
Melendez was an impressive wing, who showed some solid ball skills. He hit outside jumpers and was able to finish downhill drives, perhaps his most impressive trait was his wiggle, as the wing proved to be more than a straight line driver, showing agility and some nice COD’s en route to shaking opposing defenders.
Bryce Whitting
Bryce Whitting
If I had an all Glass Cleaner team Whitting would have made it. He was one of the better in traffic rebounders I saw, routinely going between two or three opponents to corral the ball. He flashed some ball skills, but I thought he was also one of the better players off the ball, as he did a terrific job of moving without the basketball.
Jashon Marinia
Jashon Marinia
Marina could easily have been listed as a floor general because of his wiggle and handle. As it is, he was a bucket using that wiggle to defeat defenders. He had a sick James Harden like step back that he finished by hitting a deep three. His shot making ability made him one of the better wings I saw during the week.
