The Elite Prep League saw it's inaugural season this year, bringing together some of the top post grad programs in the mid-atlantic and being one of the most competitive leagues in the country. The 7 team league featured teams from Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, and looked like an intermediate level of basketball between high school and college.

Here's a look at the Second Team All Prep League team, as voted on by the coaches in the league.

Shaedon Simpson | 6'6” WF | Combine

EPL Averages: 17.0 PPG , 7.2 RPG - 48% FG, 39.8% 3FG

Simpson was the first person left off the First Team, and he's one of 3 players on Combine who were voted second team as they were one of the most well balanced teams in the league finishing in 3rd with a 4-2 record. Simpson grew throughout the year and became a well-rounded and two-way impact player, he was a high level shooter and his athleticism made him one of the most fun and highlight reel action players in the league. He's one of the best available wings in the country and still has a lot of room to get better moving forward.

Tylik Weeks | 6'7” PF | Scotland

EPL Averages: 21.6 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 2.2 APG - 50% FG

“Bully” as he's known by teammates and coaches was one of the most productive mismatches in the entire league, as the 6'7” power forward brought it every game and put up big numbers against very good teams. He was a load in the paint that cleared out space and brought physicality and toughness to his team, he showed the ability to step out and knock down shots and he showed he can put it on the deck and get downhill to finish through contact. He was efficient as a scorer and made a lot of winning plays for his group.

Diovion Famakinde | 6'5” CG | Hargrave

EPL Averages: 14.5 PPG, 3.3 APG, 3.3 RPG, 1.2 SPG - 44% FG

If we did a “sixth man of the year” award it would have gone to Famakinde, who was an absolute difference maker for Hargrave and one of their best players all season. The 6'5” combo guard has a mix of size and shiftiness that makes him hard to guard off the bounce, he scored the ball well from all three levels and he was one of the best isolation players in the league. He had knack for stepping up in big situations and big games and was a big reason for Hargrave's championship this year.

Aaron Talbert | 6'1” PG | Combine

EPL Averages: 12.8 PPG, 8.5 APG, 3.8 RPG - 44.6% FG 42.9% 3FG

Talbert was one of the best true point guards in the EPL, and was a huge reason that Combine overachieved in the eyes of some in the league. The 6'1” point guard is a dynamic playmaker who's shifty off the bounce and touches the paint at will, he has excellent feel and vision as a playmaker and he scored the ball when his team needed, especially in late shot clock situations. He was the straw that stirred the drink for them and is one of the best available point guards in post grad basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1448801' first='Chase' last='Nelson'] | 6'0” PG | Massanutten

EPL Averages: 14.8 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 5.2 APG - 41.3% FG 42.3% 3FG

Nelson was a big reason for Massanutten's turn-around as he started to play much better when league play began and had a couple of big time performances throughout conference play. He shot the ball very well including hitting 8 three-pointers in their win over Hargrave, he made plays off the bounce for his teammates and always seemed to make plays when his team needed him to. The AIC commit was one of the breakout players in the EPL and a big reason for Massanutten's run to the National Prep Championship Tournament.

Aaron Hall | 6'8” PF | Combine

EPL Averages: 18.2 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 1.8 APG - 55% FG

One of the best bigs in the league, Hall improved throughout the season and was one of the most consistent post players in conference play. The 6'8” big man was a load in the paint as he was able to use his strength to clear out space and his athleticism to finish at and above the rim, he ran the floor and showed off his highlight reel finishing ability and he was a presence on the glass and defensive end too. His consistent play was often times overlooked, but he should be a prospect that division one schools look at if they need a big man.

James Morrow | 6'7” PF | Fork Union

EPL Averages: 16.2 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 1.0 BPG - 62% FG

Morrow was another one of the most improved players in the league, and he dealt with some injuries early in league play and FUMA looked like an entirely different team when he was on the floor. The 6'7” big man was strong and explosive and used his athleticism to play against bigger players in the paint, he was an efficient scorer with good touch both in the paint and in the midrange area and he was one of the better defenders in the league too. He's another available big who proved himself against high level competition all year.
