The 2025 class is one to watch and has prospects that could breakout in 2023-24, especially in the SEC. Here are the 2025 SEC prospects who could breakout next season.
Kevin Freeman Kevin Freeman 6'5" | SF Arts | 2025 State NJ , 6’5 SF Arts
Freeman had a solid 2022-23 season for the Jaguars and has the potential to burst onto the scene in 2023-23. The 6’5 wing has a nice release on his jumper and shoots the ball with confidence from behind the arc. Freeman is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and finish around the basket. He is a strong rebounder and has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor. Freeman’s ability to knock down jumpers from behind the arc and finish at the rim makes him an intriguing prospect to watch in the 2025 class.
Akeem Langevine Akeem Langevine 6'6" | PF Montclair Immaculate | 2025 State NJ , 6’6 PF Immaculate Conception
Langevine had big flashes throughout the season as he almost picked up a triple-double in a game against West Side. The 6’6 forward is a premier shot-blocker as he swats almost everything around the rim and holds his ground on the defensive end. Langevine skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and runs the floor hard. He can finish around the basket and has a good touch on his free throws. Langevine is a rim-protector who has the potential to breakout with more touches on the offensive end.
David Ekhelar David Ekhelar 6'8" | C Newark East Side | 2025 State NJ , 6’8 C Newark East Side
Ekhelar has the potential to breakout in 2023-24 as he should get more looks on the offensive end. The 6’8 post is active on the glass as he is tough to boxout and gets second chance opportunities for his teams on offense. Ekhelar sets good screens in the half court and rolls hard to the basket. He uses his length to influence shots around the rim and is developing his range on the offensive end. Ekhelar is one to watch in the SEC with his ability to make plays in the paint.
Jahi Whitney Jahi Whitney 6'4" | SF Montclair | 2025 State NJ , 6’4 SF Montclair
Whitney had a strong 2022-23 season for the Bulldogs and has the potential to breakout next season. The 6’4 wing has a good handle, which he uses to get to the basket and finishes strong around the rim. Whitney knows how to get to his spot on the floor and rises up with confidence on his jumper. He is a solid rebounder and uses his athleticism to make plays on the defensive end. Whitney is a slashing wing prospect who should put up bigger numbers in 2023-24.
Isaiah Frazier Isaiah Frazier 6'0" | SF Payne Tech | 2025 State NJ , 6’2 SF Payne Tech
Frazier is set for a breakout 2023-24 season as he should get more touches on offense. The 6’2 wing uses his handle to get to the basket and can finish around the basket. Frazier is a solid passer and moves well without the ball in his hands. He can knock down jumpers on the perimeter and is an underrated defender. Frazier should be one to watch in the SEC as he gets more confidence on the offensive end.
