Through two games that I have witnessed, there have been some big time ballers that will be tearing up the high school and college scene here before long. As the future becomes the present, lets see who these players are!
Daylan Williamson
Daylan Williamson
Daylan Williamson is a player that tore it up all day yesterday and is continuing it again today. Coming off of games that saw him score 20 points against Team Griffin and 21 points against We R One, he continued the on-slaught by scoring 15 points against KSR Elite. This game was over early on, but he would have more than likely eclipsed 20 points again if it was closer. He showed the ability to knock down tough shots, hitting a contested three and a pull-up mid-range jumper, just as two examples today. His impact expands beyond that, as he grabbed several rebounds. These rebounds led to several great outlet passes and a few assists. He showed the ability to be a pest on the defensive end, as he deflected the ball out of bounds, played great defense on the perimeter, and came away with a couple of steals. It was a great all-around game from him in this one.
Miles Jackson
Miles Jackson
Miles Jackson made a big impact in every area of the game, but especially with his rebounding and defense. He used his length and athleticism to grab one rebound after another. There were times that there would be two players on the other team boxing him out, but he had the heart to fight through and still grab the rebounds. There were a couple of times that he grabbed the rebound and pushed the pace, which led to him scoring in transition. On defense, he had a block and a couple of steals. One of the steals led to him scoring in transition. He utilized his athleticism and I.Q to switch screens, fight through screens, and just lockdown on the perimeter and in the paint. On offense, he showed the ability to drive the gap and finish through contact, which led to him finishing an and-one. He also showed the ability to stretch the floor, as he knocked down a three. It was a truly impressive performance for him with his rebounding and defensive ability.
Malachi Hardiman
Malachi Hardiman
Malachi Hardiman made a massive impact with his interior defense, inside scoring, and rebounding. He finished the game with a double-double, as he grabbed one rebound after another. Some of these rebounds were offensive rebounds, which led to him scoring inside. He was able to utilize his size advantage to bully the defenders on the glass and inside the paint for easy buckets. He finished with 10 points and close to probably 12 rebounds or more. A couple of his points were from him hitting a mid-range pull-up. A couple of his rebounds led to great outlet passes, which resulted in easy assist. It was an impressive performance for him
Marquell Robinson
Marquell Robinson
Marquell Robinson was all over the place for Team Griffin in a blowout victory. He used his athleticism to grab one offensive rebound after another. I recorded six offensive rebounds, but it is very possible that he had more. He turned multiple of these offensive rebounds into second-chance points. He showed the ability to finish inside, as he was able to finish through contact on multiple occasions. There were times that he showed the ability to act as a playmaker, driving the gap and kicking to an open shooter after the defense collapsed. His last area of impact was on defense. He played lockdown defense, excelling both on the ball and off. He was able to come away with a steal, which resulted in him scoring in transition. It was an impressive game, as he dominated the offensive glass and affected other areas.
Dewayne McKinney
Dewayne McKinney
Dewayne McKinney was impressive in a blowout win for Team Griffin. He had 22 points, scoring in a variety of ways. It constantly was finishing inside through contact, even showing the ability to complete an and-one. He would grab a rebound and push the pace, which resulted in him finishing in transition. He showed the ability to shoot as well, knocking down a few mid-range jumpers and a three pointer. He came away with a steal and played great defense on the perimeter. It was an impressive game for him on both ends of the court, but especially leading the game with 22 points.
