The finals are set and players to watch from the games will be set forth in the next 24 hours after Deer Lakes booked its first trip to the state basketball championships in school history and Aliquippa punched yet another ticket for a trip to Hershey.

Aliquippa finds itself in a familiar position--A state final--based on its lockdown on-ball defense, something that separates them from much of the pack in Pittsburgh hoops.

Who stood out in the 'Quips dominant victory over Otto-Eldred and Deer Lakes win over Penn Cambria?

We have said for several rounds that Lindsey is the X-Factor for the 'Quips. He's not the stereotypical big man at 6'2"-190 but more of a big bodied guard who plays the 5 spot. His athleticism was on display against OE last night as he fueled the Aliquippa offense with 19 points. His contributions in the second quarter opened up a comfortable halftime lead for the 'Quips.

New Aliquippa post, different Aliquippa sport, same Aliquippa names. Walker, also know for being a star on the football field, has turned in elite performances throughout the basketball season. He followed up his big game against Canevin at both ends by chipping in where necessary last night. His athleticism at both ends of the floor could give Lancaster Mennonite problems in the final. If he can Lindsey are firing on all cylinders, the 'Quips will be taking more gold back to the Ohio Valley.

The 6'2" junior turned in a big performance, scoring 17 points on the night. He led a very balanced team effort as they earned their first trip to the state final. A nice wing player who can get to the rim with either hand and finish through contact. He's also got the ability to step back and hit threes, even if they're contested. He'll be a key player for them next year but is playing some of his best basketball right now.

[player_tooltip player_id='1284794' first='Bryce' last='Robson'] | G | Deer Lakes

Recently over 1,000 points and fresh off a WPIAL title, teams have been shadowing Robson all season and are yet to figure out how to contain him and his teammates. He's a good ballhandler and gets to the basket with purpose. They'll need him at his best in the state title tilt with West Catholic.

[player_tooltip player_id='1187871' first='Garrett' last='Harrold']| G | Penn Cambria

One of the top players in District 6, the big bodied guard roughed it up at both ends with a 20 point, 19 rebound outing in his final high school game. He displayed ability to play through contact and his QB skills translated to his ability to move the ball on the basketball court. Harrold will be playing football at Duquesne University next fall as a respected QB prospect and is the third college football player in this post who gets the job done on the hardwood too. If he wanted too, Harrold could have been recruited as a college basketball prospect.
