Continue ReadingA game which had so much hype behind it that Governor Shapiro found his way to the Giant Center delivered on all dramatic promises. Lincoln Park Charter scored the close win in a game where unfortunately, someone had to lose. An electric show was put on by the elite prospects for both teams, trading shot for shot to the buzzer.
Brandin Cummings Brandin Cummings 6'3" | SG Lincoln Park | 2024 State #132 Nation PA | G | Lincoln Park Charter 2024
The junior guard, committed to Pitt, came out hot and powered the Jaguars in the early going. He became much more confident as a scorer and comfortable as a leader. His offensive game is well rounded as he can break down even top tier prospects off the bounce and finish or pull up for jumpers. With another year to go, he’s going to be nearly unstoppable next year. Easily the best guard prospect in greater Pittsburgh next year’s senior class.
Meleek Thomas Meleek Thomas 6'4" | CG Lincoln Park | 2025 State #5 Nation PA | G | Lincoln Park Charter 2025
An elite national recruit started to heat up as the first quarter went on and his three late capped off a big run by LPC to get back into it. He was able to get to the rim but was confidently knocking down shots from the perimeter as he got going and was fantastic down the stretch. Mike Bariski will have the blessing of seeing both of his elite guards return next year.
Robert Wright III Robert Wright III 6'0" | PG Montverde Academy (FL) | 2024 State #35 Nation FL | G | Neumann Goretti 2024
Wright showed all night why he’s an elite guard and one of the top players in Pennsylvania for the Class of 2024–He’s #1 in our rankings–and is a guy who can legitimately score at all levels, break down defenders and has a lightning quick first step to the rim. Even after picking up two fouls, he kept going at full speed and carried the Saints throughout. His layup to tie cruelly fell out of the rim with just seconds left.
Sultan Adewale Sultan Adewale 6'8" | SF Neumann-Goretti | 2023 State #205 Nation PA | F | Neumann Goretti
A monster in the middle, the 6’9″ Adewale was poised to use his physicality and aggression to own the boards but those plans got thrown for a loop as the big man took two first quarter fouls and was sent to the bench. Adewale’s early foul troubles gave LPC an opportunity to assert themselves and take some control in the paint.
