Stoney made his mark known this weekend at Marcus Sloan’s OTR Takeover tournament. Hadnot decimated the competition as he usually does, leading his team in scoring almost every game they played. Team Temple gathered wins against TJ Ford, Cooz Elite , and also Vyperfuse. Stoney dropped 18 points against TJ Ford, 21 points against Cooz, and a double-double with 14 points/8 rebounds against Fuse. Hadnot will continue to make a huge difference for this Temple squad as he is efficient finishing over opponents from all three levels of the court due to his height, athleticism, and ability to control the basketball.
Javion Jacobs
Javion Jacobs
Javion was a double-double machine this weekend for BCH 17u in their contests against some of the top teams OTR had to offer. With victories over teams like SA Proskills, RL9 UA Rise, and Team Ford, Jacobs certainly put his name on the map going against some tough matchups. Javion showed he is very efficient at finishing under the rim over tough defense and also is capable of spotting up and hitting shots from beyond the arc. Coming out of Humble High School, he will show he has what it takes to be a go-to guy this AAU season for a Bayou City team that is looking to catch all the smoke these tourneys have to offer. Over the weekend, Javion averaged 16 points and around 13 rebounds per game.
Daniel Williams
Daniel Williams
Daniel was a big time playmaker for SBG this weekend in some tough contests. During one game, he went up and grabbed the offensive rebound, dunking the putback over the defender and getting the crowd hyped up. Williams was also very effective on the defensive end and managed to average around 4 steals a game in clutch games against the Houston Highlights, XL Hurricanes, and an especially tough matchup against RL9 UA Rise. Daniel knows how to get to his spot on the court and patiently wait for the ball as well as distribute the rock to teammates to get a good shot off. Williams checks all boxes on an evaluation form when looking for a vocal leader and a willing team player who always hustles and is willing to do whatever it takes to get a victory.
Rayyan had a standout weekend as he dropped 26 points in a close loss to Houston Flight on Saturday. Isa showed ability to be a high level facilitator against tough competition and was efficient shooting off the dribble from all 3 levels of the court. Rayyan is a very unselfish player who is never afraid to make the extra pass and is great at using his speed to get past his defender to the basket or dish to an open teammate for a knockdown jumper. Isa is a master of the pick and roll as well, using the option to keep his big man involved in the game. Rayyan will continue this momentum as we get further into the summer and the competition gets steeper and more challenging.

Martez made a big impact as a competitive player for Team Temple this weekend. James was very effective on the glass for his squad, coming down with clutch rebounds and making the outlet pass to an open teammate for an easy bucket. Martez is also a good ballhandler for his size and is great at posting up and using a variety of moves to get past his defender to the rim. James shows he is very disciplined by the way he plays and is a great vocal leader on defense as well as being a positive motivator. He will continue to make an impact as Team Temple ventures on the NY2LA circuit coming up in a month or so and will look to continue this upward trend of play.
Duran is a big time role player for his One Time Legends 17u squad and made a huge impact this weekend at OTR Takeover. Aidan does all the dirty work on the court, such as hustling for loose balls, battling on both ends of the glass, and scrapping in the post. Duran is efficient at finishing under the basket and also steps out for an occasional three point and mid range jumpshot. Aidan continues to improve his jumper every week and before long will be a very efficient shooter off the catch and release. Duran will have a big stage to prove his talents on as One Time continues on to the Adidas Gauntlet this summer and will only continue to increase in strength of schedule as the lights brighten. Duran should continue to produce at a high level and could even go on to begin averaging a double-double.
