Chase Branham
As usual, Chase Branham showcased an extraordinary basketball IQ and the capability to put the ball in the hoop. Branham was a threat to create, take, and make a shot the moment he crossed half-court. He broke defenders down with his dribble and strong creativity. Chase was such a crafty ball-handler that he was able to get his man leaning or off balance with his utilization of hesitation dribbles in tight spaces, to create a driving angles, and to always keep separation from his defender. Efficient with the ball in his hands, Branham proved to be a willing passer who can feed his teammates evenly and consistently. Very active and superb when playing without the ball, Chase appears to have begun mastering the art of using and setting screens, I liked how he set screens to get himself open looks from all over often either fading, curling, or popping out. Chase Branham is a name to take note of, he has a real chance to be one of the best guards in the state of Missouri before he hits the college level.
Ryker Buckley
Ryker Buckley
Ryker Buckley gave his all and played with a refuse to lose mentality, this guard stayed highly competitive and locked into the action the floor all weekend long. Whether he was scoring or dropping dimes, Buckley played with the IQ of a seasoned player, scoring from all three levels and breaking his defenders down in one-on-one situations going left or right, his efficiency around the rim was impressive as well. On the defensive end, Buckley was as tenacious as they come, a very reliable helpside defender, and always communicating with his teammates.
Preston Crayton
Preston Crayton
Preston Crayton proved to be the type of point guard that can serve as a scorer or facilitator, creating offense for himself and his teammates by making great reads with the ball on a consistent basis. This prospect embodied the phrase Floor General as he controlled the tempo and flow of the game, his understanding of pace, when to penetrate, and when to pass were impeccable. Crayton looked as if he’s already developing a sky high basketball IQ, he knows how to set his teammates up by drawing the defenses attention before dropping a pass off to his big, kicking it out to his corner shooters, and hitting his cutter.
Johnny Rodriguez
Johnny Rodriguez
As a 7th-grader playing up with 8th-grade, Rodriguez controlled the offense the way a point guard should, constantly making the right play and the correct pass even in tough situations. Johnny’s unselfishness was evident as he fed his big man over and over again as he spotted the mismatch, understanding that the defense had no answer for Summitt’s down low threats.
Gavin Rollins
Gavin Rollins
Next Page Force’s lead guard, Gavin Rollins, came to set the tone, bring the leadership, and energy to the floor. Very vocal playmaker on both ends of the court. Rollins displayed solid quickness, explosiveness, and decision-making skills with the ball. Rollins became tougher and tougher to defend throughout the game due to his strong upper and lower body which allowed him to handle pressure and finish through traffic easier than most at his height, often out-muscling skinnier defenders on his way to the basket.
