Central Cass had a couple of scares at NDSCS but not enough to stop them from picking up the wins! CC is a balanced team with loads of shooters and playmakers. They like to play an uptempo style, spread the floor, and share the rock.
Info: It was a crazy game and an amazing comeback by the Lakers on Thursday night. Regulation was not enough time, the Lakers won the big game in overtime. DLB was down 11 points with 2:37 left in the game. The biggest shot of the game was likely the game-tying 3-pointer from Jack Schaefer. [player_tooltip player_id='1138816' first='Carson' last='Yale'] was also huge down the stretch as he had multiple blocks in crunch time. In the Title Game, DLB was led in scoring by Jack Schaefer with 21 points, [player_tooltip player_id='1184440' first='Rylan' last='Olson'] 20 points, and [player_tooltip player_id='1138816' first='Carson' last='Yale'] dropped 17.
Info: The Ranchers had their toughest game of the Region Tournament in the Semifinals against Stanley. Powers Lake lost in the Region Championship last season to Stanley. I imagine it was fun for the Ranchers to get revenge on the Blue Jays. Powers Lake-Burke Central is led by [player_tooltip player_id='1050257' first='Tyson' last='Enget'] who is a top player in ND. On Thursday, he was named the Region 8 Senior Athlete of the Year.
Info: Unless you are from Warwick, I do not think many people gave the Warriors a chance to win Region 4. Warwick came into the Tournament as a #6 seed, it rarely happens that a #6 seed wins the Region Tourney. [player_tooltip player_id='1476040' first='Mark' last='Fassett'] is the top player for the Warriors and he was selected as an All-Region player. Fassett is a skilled player that can score in bunches. Jason Lenior is a good defender, rebounder and can hit open triples. [player_tooltip player_id='2344136' first='Dorvan' last='McKay'] handles the ball well, is talented at getting to the basket, and does good work creating open looks for others. Dwight Hunt is a talented shooter off the bench that can fill it up in a hurry. [player_tooltip player_id='1843885' first='Elijah' last='Feather'] is an impressive 3-point shooter.
Info: The Thunder have been flying under the radar all season as they never jumped into the Top 10 Rankings. MPB is obviously a tough team, they won 21 games and made winning plays when it mattered. The biggest play of the season came on Thursday night in the Championship vs. Ellendale. The Cardinals were up 56-54 with 10 seconds left in the game, the Thunder went the distance of the court, and Sawyer Wanzek nailed a deep triple with 4.4 seconds on the clock. The Thunder got a stop on the next possession and they won the Region Championship. The top two players for the Thunder are [player_tooltip player_id='1050259' first='Josh' last='Moser'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1322213' first='Rylen' last='Wick'].
