Player Comments from coach TJ Knudson
Shane Henderson Shane Henderson 6'6" | PF Mobridge-Pollock | 2025 State SD – “Shane led us in rebounds 180 total/8.2 RPG, VPS 1.27, FG% 48, 31 blocks, and was our third-highest scorer with 228 for the season at 10.4 PPG. Shane played tough in the paint and improved his basketball skills throughout the season.“
Jackson Eisemann Jackson Eisemann 5'10" | PG Mobridge-Pollock | 2025 State SD – “Jackson averaged 10.9 PPG, 240 total pts and played the point guard position this year. He did a great job handling pressure defenses and executing offensive plays. He led our team in steals and contributed to our team playing fast but under control.“
Michael Wald Michael Wald 6'0" | SG Mobridge-Pollock | 2024 State SD – “Michael led us in points scored with 243 and 12.2 PPG. He also led our team in deflections and was third in steals. He was second on our team in defensive rebounds with 78. Michael led our team in transition points with 78. Michael is a great three-point shooter. He led our team with 37 made three-pointers.“
Simon Fried – “Simon was voted our most improved varsity player this season. He was also awarded our Sixth Man Award. He is super quick and plays aggressively on both ends of the floor.“
Kobe Goodshield – Holden Eisemann – Coy Hinsz – Turner Pfitzer – “All four of these seniors helped our team win games. Kobe was our Mr. Hustle award winner. He was also second in steals with 32 and played solid defense this season. Holden handled the ball and was our assist leader. Coy played tough in the paint and was a “team first” type of player. He won our Team Sportsmanship Award. Turner helped us in a variety of ways. He shot the ball well and played aggressive defense, usually on the other team’s best player.“
Q&A with coach Knudson
PHD: How would you sum up the season for your squad?
Coach Knudson: “11 wins and 11 losses. Many players improved each day throughout the season. We played poorly in two of our losses in January but overall felt that we played good games in the other 20. Looking at overall stats we won most games when we shot 36% and above. If teams made us shoot below 36% or score less than 50 total points, we lost those games. Out of our 11 losses, 6 of those games were lost by 10 or fewer. We won most of our games when we had a high amount of transition points and points off turnovers.“
PHD: What were some of the highlights that stick out?
Coach Knudson: “We won seven in a row in 14 days in late January/early February.”

PHD: How did your team overcome adversity?
Coach Knudson: “I was impressed with team effort, focus, and determination at practice after a loss. We really improved from each loss. Our younger players had older role models demonstrating how to practice and get better each day. I’ll give credit to our captains in Holden, Kobe, and Coy.“
PHD: Who were some of your hardest workers and what did they do?
Coach Knudson: “Kobe was voted our team Mr. Hustle. Other players that received votes are Holden, Coy, Turner, Simon, and Jackson.“
PHD: Who are a couple of role players that stood out to you?
Coach Knudson: “Coy always came into the games ready to play. He knew all of our plays inside and out. He played smart, unselfish, and logged a ton of valuable minutes. Turner helped us score points at key times throughout the season. His high level of self-confidence and energy was contagious to our younger players. Simon played great defense, as he can guard anyone for 90 feet with his quickness. He was voted varsity’s most improved and sixth man. He demonstrated explosive plays on offense and defense and has a high ceiling in his basketball skills going forward.“
PHD: Can you talk about your seniors and what will be missed?
Coach Knudson: “We will miss Holden for his high basketball IQ, playmaking on the drive, and as a lockdown defender. We will miss Coy with his on-the-floor intensity at practice and games, his leadership, and his stellar post-defense. We will miss Turner as he never missed a day in the off-season, had top energy every day, and could shoot clutch three-pointers. We will miss Kobe in that he played so well with all his teammates. He knew how to make everyone else better while on the court. He was a vocal leader that just flat-out loves the game of basketball. Rafe Jewett played JV for us and was voted the Most Improved JV player. He demonstrated his hard work at practice and also videoed our games the last two seasons. I’ve had multiple comments about how good our film is. That is all due to Rafe and his ability to run the camera.“
PHD: Who are some up-and-comers to look out for in the future?
Coach Knudson: “We have a nice mixture of guards and posts coming up the ranks.“
GO TIGERS!!!
