Final Senior Player Rankings

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last year this time we had 205 players to rank for the 2023 class and we are now up to 250.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>64 players are new, three re-classified to 2023 from 2022, two went to the 2024 class and 14 moved out of state or currently stopped playing basketball.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Of the 64 new players, 14 fell in the Top-50 and 34 in the top-150. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This obviously means some of the players who were ranked at the top last year saw their ranking drop.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Our goal at&nbsp;<strong>PrepHoopsAZ</strong>&nbsp;is to try and recognize anyone who may play college basketball. Two of the players earned rare McDonald's All-American invites with [player_tooltip player_id='861099' first='Marquis' last='Cook'] and [player_tooltip player_id='831114' first='Cody' last='Williams']. They are both already on draft boards for 2024, as high up as #1 pick for Cody! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>3. Rankings are based on a lot of things. Production, size for position, college coaches, the eye test, ability to score and defend, instincts, IQ, how a player moves, speed, ball handling, shooting, fundamentals. length and possible upside. It is not the easiest thing to do since not all players play in the same leagues for AAU and HS. They can be in the CAA, Grind Session and the AIA obviously has different levels itself. Plus AAU teams may play on National Circuits (3SSB, UAA and EYBL) or play on local independent circuits (Pangos, Prep Hoops, WCE, The Stage and so on). So you put all that information together and create the rankings. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>4. Of the 250 players we have 54 PG's, 47 SG's, 37 CG's, 57 SF's, 47 PF's and only 8 C's.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
