All-Maryland/DC First Team

Over the course of the week, Adam Ayalew and I will be publishing All-Maryland/DC teams for the all four classes. We start with those who made First Team:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><em>First Team</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1114066' first='Carlton' last='Carrington'] | St. Frances (Pittsburgh commit)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The season that Carrington had individually was nothing short of spectacular. For starters, he eclipsed the 1000-point mark in his senior season alone. He led St. Frances to the MIAA A Conference title as the primary scorer while taking home MVP awards from events such as the DTLR Classic, R1A Classic, Jumpman Classic, More than Basketball and the MLK Classic.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='957022' first='Cam' last='Gillus'] - Sidwell Friends (Leigh commit)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gillus was definitely one of Sidwell's more valuable players throughout their impressive season. He sets the tone on each possession defensively and is reliable with the ball on offense.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='957018' first='Amani' last='Hansberry'] - Mount St. Joe (Illinois commit)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hansberry capped off his senior season with a dominant performance in the BCL title game as he finished with 17 points and 21 rebounds. He took home BCL Player of the Year honors leading the Gaels to a 38-4 record including a win over the nation's No. 1 team in Montverde Academy in the Iolani Classic semifinal game in Hawaii.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1413504' first='Cam' last='Horton'] - City</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Horton was another Baltimore senior who ended his high school career in dominant fashion. Not only did he lead City to an undefeated season at 28-0 while collecting city, regional and state championships along the way, but the 6'4 wing also averaged a stat line of 20.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and two steals per game while doing so. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='957026' first='Malik' last='Mack'] - St. John's DC (Harvard commit)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mack's superior lead guard play resulted in a WCAC title for the Cadets in his senior year. The Harvard commit was an integral part of SJC's 30+ win campaign.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
