Let’s take a look at the best shooting guards in the final 2023 rankings. This does not include players in the top ten of the class overall as those have already been covered in another article.
Signed to play at NKU, Israel is one prospect who made the most out of the “covid year” and went from off the radar to earning multiple D1 offers last summer. Jeremiah is a long and athletic guard who can be a disruptor on defense and slasher on offense.
One of the best two-way guards in Louisville, McClain has had a nice career for the Rocks and will be a contributor next year wherever he signs. Cam is a good shooter and an unselfish playmaker with the ball in his hands.
McCune was named first region player of the year recently and has McCracken County headed back to Rupp Arena. Jack’s game and role have really progressed over his career and he has a long list of college suitors trying to get a commitment from him.
One of our biggest stock boosters in this update, Damarion is a long and very athletic wing who will try to take flight and dunk on opposing defenders when the opportunity presents itself. Walkup’s best basketball is all ahead of him and he’s on my list of kids who are likely to be impact players at whatever level he signs at this Spring.
One of the best players in the third region for the past few seasons, Carbon has scored a ton of points in his career and won a ton of games. Kenyata is also a stud running back on the football field and it’s not unreasonable to see him playing on the court or football field in college.
