CHANTILLY, VA — Westfield and Chantilly met in the opening round of districts on Monday night. Here are some notes from this hard-fought postseason contest.

Kashantis Anderson | guard | Westfield ‘23

Anderson's bread and butter on offense is his mid range jumper. He's very adept at getting to his spots off the dribble. Anderson is also a menace on defense. He quickly converts turnovers into scoring opportunities for his team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1782684' first='Isaiah' last='Brown'] | guard | Westfield '26

There's plenty to like about Brown's long-term potential. He can put the ball in the hole, but is learning to impact the game without scoring. Brown competes defensively and on the glass.

Ved Desai | forward | Chantilly ‘24

Desai is a strong presence around the basket. He moves bodies in the paint and provides rim protection. Desai also has a soft touch when finishing scoring chances.

Jaden Haile | guard | Westfield '23

Haile was definitely one of the better players on the floor. He was a difference maker on both ends for his team. Haile applied relentless pressure on the ball and played alert help defense. He was a constant threat to score or make plays for others offensively.

Hershey Samala | forward | Chantilly '24

Samala is a workhorse who impacts winning in multiple ways. He's a taller forward who will rebound in traffic, and finish inside off two feet. Samala is also a threat to shoot the three ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1580613' first='Ivan' last='So'] | guard | Chantilly ‘24

So is a strong guard who can shoot the 3 or finish inside. He creates space for his jumper with step backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1580612' first='Tyler' last='Swindell'] | guard | Chantilly '24

Swindell is a very versatile player for the Chargers. He can score from a variety of areas on the court and is fundamentally sound. Swindell is also an active defender who helps clean the glass and makes plays for others.
