He’s got all the tools you look for in a wing, just hasn’t been able to gain the necessary exposure to be a highly-touted prospect. Catholic is a great three-point shooter and lets it fly with a ton of confidence. He also runs the floor really well and likes to get above the rim in transition. The skillset is there for Catholic and as he continues to get a better understanding of how to attack defenses, he will grow even more dominant. His name could become a lot more popular if he lands with the right team in the spring/summer.
Harry Kitey
Harry Kitey
While Weber isn’t the typical hub for college-level talent, they’ve got a good one right now in Harry Kitey. Kitey is 6’6 with a solid frame and can play either the 4 or the 5. He can hurt you from the perimeter with his outside shot or take you down to the block and score from there. I can see a scenario where Kitey lands with a top independent program and raises his stock tremendously this summer. Kitey’s 4.4 GPA and 33 ACT score are top-tier and I imagine some Ivy League schools will come calling eventually.
If there’s one team outside of the GHSA that’s made noise this year, it’s Wilson Academy. Isiah Cameron Isiah Cameron 6’4″ | SF The Wilson Academy | 2024 State GA is a huge reason for that. Cameron is somewhat of a positionless player and does a multitude of things for Wilson Academy. He brings the intensity on defense and does a great job of contesting and blocking shots around the basket. In their recent matchup with Pebblebrook, Cameron did an excellent job guarding Jaiun Simon Jaiun Simon 6’7″ | SF Pebblebrook | 2023 State #220 Nation GA in a 1-point loss. Offensively, he’s a swiss army knife and contributes to the offense in a variety of ways but is at his best when attacking the rim. He’s a guy to keep an eye on this spring/summer and could generate a lot of interest through the live periods.
Jaden Butts
Jaden Butts
Out west by Athens, there’s a combo guard by the name of Jaden Butts that can shoot the skin off the ball. I was impressed with some of his highlights earlier in the year and have been keeping an eye on him since. He’s got a smooth pull-up jumper which is nearly automatic from mid-range and can shoot the 3 off the catch too. As Butts continues developing the other areas of his game, he will grow into a more complete combo guard and should make for a solid, small-school prospect. I’m interested to see where Butts ends up this summer as that should have a major impact on his exposure.
Logan Blalock
Logan Blalock
Logan Blalock is a combo guard from George Walton that’s been steadily rising up the board. He shoots the 3 well and is pretty strong around the paint on penetration. Defensively, he offers a lot of versatility being able to guard positions 1-4. His toughness really stands out on film and one aspect of Blalock’s game that must be recognized is his willingness to rebound. He’s not afraid to scrap inside against bigger guys and grab tough boards. Blalock will be back with Hoop Atlanta this summer with some added talent around him and could be in store for a breakout campaign.
